Aromatherapy For Youthful, Glowing Skin

Essential oils are use in a variety of different ways. People use them in their home cleaning, simply to have a nice scent around them, or for their mood-lifting properties. However, you can also use aromatherapy for youthful, glowing skin. It is important to understand that aromatherapy oils are slightly different from essential oils, in as such that the latter are completely pure, concentrated and volatile. Aromatherapy oils, on the other hand, are diluted, usually in another oil, so that they can be used directly on the skin. Lavender essential oil, turned into an aromatherapy oil, is particularly good for the skin.

Most of us want to have beautiful and vibrant skin, as we believe it to be an expression of our overall health. Unfortunately, we live in a world where we are constantly exposed to both internal and external pollutants. This makes it very difficult to have that flawless skin. Our diet plays a role, but so do our lifestyle habits, how much sun exposure we get and how stressed we feel inside. Indeed, all of these elements can have lasting, permanent effects on our skin. By using essential oils, however, we use natural remedies to fight the problems we are exposed to. This is something that has been done for thousands of years, and something that we will hopefully continue to do for thousands more years. It is a welcome development to see that many of those involved in the cosmetics industry are now starting to pay attention, and that they are using truly natural essential oils in their own products too.

It is a well-known fact that lavender oil is great for sunburned or otherwise stressed skin. Indeed, it was discovered by a French scientist that applying lavender oil to serious burns significantly reduced the overall healing time. Hence, those who have a lot of sun exposure should use lavender aromatherapy oils to soothe and heal their skin, leaving it youthful and glowing. Other oils are very beneficial as well. Sandalwood, for instance, is hydrated and particularly beneficial for damaged or dry skin. Additionally, melaleuca can stop blemishes and breakouts from occurring, and tea tree oil is perfect for those who suffer from acne. One of the benefits of lavender oil in particular, however, is the effects it has on the mood as well. It is known to help in the treatment of depression and anxiety, as well as helping people have more restful sleep. This in particular has a real effect on the skin, because it means less cortisol will flow through the body. Cortisol is the stress hormone and wreaks havoc with our skin. Simply inhaling some lavender oil before bedtime should already be beneficial.

A lavender oil massage is also a great aromatherapy tool for muscle aches and pains:
