Essential Oils for Arthritis

You can find a lot of relief when you use essential oils for arthritis. The essential oils that I have listed below will alleviate inflammation and joint pain. Not only do single essential oils provide relief, but there are also a number of essential oil blends that can help you overcome the pain and discomfort that arthritis causes.

First, I would like to give you the list of single essential oils that will help ease arthritis pain:

  • To alleviate pain and inflammation: Tea Tree, Lemon, Bay Leaf, Roman Chamomile
  • To ease the muscle pain that comes with arthritis: Frankincense, Bergamot, Eucalyptus, Juniper, Black Pepper, Fennel, Lavender, Hyssop
  • To increase circulation: Rosemary, Cedarwood, Cypress

As always, please make sure you do your research on each essential oil before use. You will want to make sure that you enjoy the aroma along with the benefits.

Second, let's talk about the essential oil blends that will work wonders on your arthritis pain. All of the single essential oils above can be blended together, but there are also specific recipes that are focused on helping people of all ages cope with arthirits.

  1. Arthritis Relief: 20 drops of Roman Chamomile + 5 drops of Black Pepper mixed with 2 oz of Carrier Oil. This blend will help with the aches and pains along with the inflammation.
  2. Arthritis Relief #2: 30 drops of Fennel + 16 drops of Cypress + 10 drops of Juniper. This woodsy blend will focus on circulation and muscle pain.
  3. Arthritis Relief #3: 10 drops of Rosemary + 8 drops of Peppermint + 16 drops of Lavender. This blend will give you all around relief. The Peppermint and Lavender for the pain, and the Rosemary will increase circulation.
  4. Pain & Inflammation Relief: 3 drops of Chamomile + 3 drops of Hyssop + 2 drops of Cypress. This blend will help with the aches and pains and it will also decrease the inflammation that comes with arthritis.

These are only a few of the essential oil blends that will help. All of these can be applied neat (directly onto your skin), but they can also be combined with a carrier oil to create an amazing massage oil. Any essential oil that you choose to alleviate arthritis pain should be used at least twice a day in order to get the full benefit.

If you are like many others, you don't want to be taking pain relievers and anti-inflammatory medication everyday. Aromatherapy and essential oils can help you the same way that standard medication does without having to take any pills. I would suggest giving these essential oils for arthritis a try, you will never know how well they work if you never try.
