If your body muscles are tired and you have constant back aches, then hot compress with essential oils is just what you need, some of the essential oils that work really well for removing body aches include basil, chamomile, bergamot, ginger, lavender, rosemary and eucalyptus.
You can use these oils to make a hot compress:
1. A Damp Compress – Heat some water in a saucepan; add 3-4 essential oil drops in the heated water, then dip a clean cloth, swirl it around, and take it out with the help of tongs, be careful or you can burn your hands. Use gloves if the water is really heated, you just need to dampen the cloth so squeeze out the excessive water, and then apply the cloth onto the area of your body that aches, leave it for some time say ten minutes and then remove it for best results. You can also scent your room while doing this remedy with the help of electric oil vaporizers
2. Microwavable Heat Packs - Put the microwavable heat pack in the microwave, once it’s warm, put the bag in a cloth or cover it with a towel, put two to three drops of essential oil on the cloth that is wrapped around the heat pack, then apply is on the part of your body/ muscles that hurt.
You don’t need any boiling water with microwavable heat packs you just have to put in the pack in the microwave and wait for it to heat, once done you can apply the microwavable heat packs on your stiff muscles, these are flexible cushion like packs that are emit warm and moist heat that is very soothing and comforting for all the stiff muscles.
Similarly you can also first apply essential oils on your neck, shoulder or any other muscular part of the body and then gently heat it with microwavable heat packs; this will relax your body. And leave you with a soothing effect.
3. Electric oil vaporizers and diffusers - Vaporizers and diffusers offer a neater, more cleaner and effective way of scenting or adding a good fragrance to your environment, since there is no flame with electric oil vaporizers, they can be used without any hassle, they are safe and can be used all day long and even at night, this is very effective especially with infants around. The scent or aroma of essential oils also have an impact on your emotional health and can heal body aches to some extent, but otherwise they are great to liven up the environment.
Electric oil vaporizers are easy to use because you don’t have to put oil in the water, the heated oil remains in the electric oil vaporizers that wont over heat, you don’t have to worry about flames, plus the temperature of these electric oil vaporizers remains the same when left on, it’s not like heating water in a saucepan.

4. Heated Rice Sock – this is also very similar to the microwaveable heat packs, but instead of a microwavable heat pack a sock is used, it’s a very effective remedy, just fill a small bowl with a cup of dry or uncooked rice, add 4-8 essential oil drops and mix them in the rice. Then get a clean dry sock and fill it with the rice mix. Tie the top of the sock in a knot, once this is done the next step is to put it into the microwave until it is heated. Make sure it doesn’t get too hot before, should be of moderate temperate, place it over your aching muscles and leave it there for ten to fifteen minutes.
Now you may think that there is not much of a difference between microwavable heat packs and these heated rice socks, that is correct but the good thing about rice socks is that they can be used again.
