The Benefits Of An Ultrasonic Aromatherapy Diffuser

Aromatherapy oils, also known as essential oils, are a great way to freshen the air in your room. Besides providing a sweet and relaxing aroma to the air you breathe, they also have many health benefits such as helping maintain a healthy blood pressure, stimulating digestion, soothing tight muscles and lifting your spirit. Essential oils are derived from the flowers, leaves, stem, bark and roots of plants.

Essential oils can be taken either orally or by inhaling. The process of dispersing the oils in the air for inhalation is known as diffusion. Although they disperse in the air naturally, the dispersion happens too slowly for any noticeable effect over a large area. Therefore, more elaborate methods are used to disperse the oils over a large area. There are many methods of diffusion, some as simple as sprinkling a few drops on a tissue or handkerchief and place the same near you. However, the best way is through the use of ultrasonic aromatherapy diffuser, which disperses the oil equally over a large area.

An ultrasonic aromatherapy diffuser is an electrical device that uses ultrasound (sound of very high frequency) to change a mixture of cold water and essential oils into a fine mist which easily disperses evenly throughout the room. The device contains a water container in is filled with cold water and a few drops of aromatherapy oils are added. The device then breaks down the mixture in separate molecules and throws them in a fine mist which permeates the room and creates an aromatic ambience that relieves stress and lightens the spirit. One thing you must remember is that after some time in the room you will stop smelling the aroma. This, however, doesn't mean that the device has stopped working. It simply means that your smell senses have got accustomed to the smell. Go out of the room for a few minutes and come back, and you will smell the aroma again.

An ultrasonic aromatherapy diffuser is easy to use. All you need to do is to refill the removable water container with clean water, add a few drops of essential oils, switch on the device and set the timer (if there is one). The room will soon start filling with a pleasant smell. It is a low-power device that requires very little electricity and is, therefore, more cost-effective that some other methods such as a candle diffuser. This device is also safer than other methods there is no risk of fire. Also, because the device usually comes with a timer, the number of hours for diffusion can be adjusted. This is very important as too much of aroma can be bad, as with everything else.

When used for therapeutic purposes, it is recommended that aromatherapy be used in conjunction with light therapy and sound therapy with best effect. Some of the best ultrasonic aromatherapy diffusers come with inbuilt music player with beautiful and soothing music. This takes the whole experience to a higher level that leaves you feeling good to be alive.
