Many people suffer from arthritis and joint pain, especially as we get older. It isn't just an old persons complaint though. Young people can suffer from it too.
It can be extremely painful and debilitating!
Usually thought of as an old persons disease and brought on by wear and tear of the bones in the joints. Pain relief is a must but as the bones degenerate it becomes more painful and eventually will probably require replacement of the joint which is affected. Usually the knees, hips and shoulders. Unfortunately the replacement is only usually given a life of around ten years so they prefer not to do replacements in the very young.
Pain relief can vary in strength dependent on the severity of the pain and each individuals pain tolerance.
Replacements are now routine operations and take about one and a half hours to perform. Recovery in hospital is around three days, unless there are complications. Obviously full recovery takes a lot longer. Stitches, clips or tapes a removed after fourteen days. Care needs to be taken to ensure that the joints don't dislocate for a few weeks.
Younger people can also be affected by arthritis or degenerative joint disease as it is now known in the younger age groups. Even babies can sometimes be affected which is extremely distressing.
People resort to walking sticks, wheelchairs and mobility scooters to get around.
There is another way!
We can look at alternative medicine and natural products. These won't prevent having to undergo joint replacements but they will help to relieve the pain and hold off the need for a replacement for longer.
Aloe Vera is on of these natural products. It is a plant that looks like a cactus but is actually a member of the lily/onion family. Dating back five thousand years to the times of the ancient romans and greeks. Documented evidence supports this and also that Cleopatra used it as part of her beauty regime.
It is organically grown, without herbicides, pesticides or insecticides. Only the inner leaf gel should be used, as the outer rind contains alloin which is bitter and can cause upset stomachs.
Aloe Vera can be taken as a drink. It is a natural anti inflammatory and a natural pain reliever. If mixed with right ingredients, such as glucosamine, chondroitin and MSM, including Vitamin C, can help to increase the production of cartilage, which is the cushion between the joints. When this hardens and crumbles, the bones in the joints start to rub together and can then disintegrate, which causes the problems of arthritis.
If you start to take the Aloe Vera in time it can help to prevent the onset of arthritis and give you a longer life without pain.
