With more and more affiliate marketers turning to free article directories, knowing how to write articles that rank well is essential. Creating article titles is one of the most important search optimization strategy article marketers can employ. Spend time on title research! To compose articles that rank well, picking out titles that are keyword littered and relevant are two great ways to ensure first page success.
Before you submit your articles to article directories, type in the article title into search engines. See if the same, or similar, article title comes up. If it does, either change the title to something more unique, or write an article for search engine optimization. Why spend the time conducting this title research? Your title is the first thing people see, it helps with the page rank, and lets people know about what the article is. All three help with page rank. If you write an informative article and do a little title research, you will have an article on the fist page of search engines very quickly.
Creating a great article with your title research will only go so far: You still need to have great context and use some words from the title in your article. You do not want to spam and overload the body with what you wrote in the title, but you need to use it a few times in order for the keywords to rank well. Only a few times. If any keywords constitute a density of more than a few percent of the total article, it can be seen as spam from search engines and against which it may be punitively counted - keep the keyword density to 1-2%.
Article directories publish their recent articles on the front page of their websites. This is good for authors to get people to their articles for which they may never search. However, after their articles leave the front page, the authors have to rely on search engines, most viewed, similar articles, and the authors' profiles for views. This is from where the longevity comes. Strive to make all of your articles search engine optimized. All of them. But you cannot, absolutely cannot, make the articles sound unnatural from spamming them with keywords. It is better to have a lower density than a higher density while sounding horrible. People may click on your article from your title, but they will not read it with bad content. Using keywords is paramount for the internet article marketer, but so creating readable articles.
For all article marketers, search engine title research is a must. You want to have a unique title from which to gain viewers! Why would you want to create an exact title that has already been taken? Change it to something completely else if you have to, but you do not want extra competition if you do not need it for something so easily remedied.
