If you are like many people, you enjoy watching movies and reading books. You love to laugh during the funny parts, and you enjoy the way your heart pounds during the suspenseful or scary parts. But what do you do after you have finished the movie or book? Do you donate it to the library, sell it in a garage sale, or keep it to enjoy later? There are reasons to consider all of these options for your books and movies.
If you donate your items to the library, others will get to enjoy them. Rather than throwing them away, you will get to experience the joy of giving. donating your books and movies is not the only option you have, of course.
A second option is to sell them. By selling them, you get them out of your way, and you get some money for them. The money can be used to fill your gas tank or pay your bills. In addition to selling your books and movies, you have one other option when trying to decide what to do with them: you can keep them so that you can enjoy them again.
Sometimes, when you sit down to read a book or watch a movie, you get interrupted. You might be pulled away from your activity by a situation that demands your attention. When the situation has been resolved, you might be too tired to return to the book or movie. You might also get calls from family or friends who want to invite you out for an evening of fun. After coming home, you might decide to go to bed, rather than staying up to read or watch a movie. Situations like these might make you decide to put it away and save it for another time. Finally, you love to experience your favorite parts of movies and books again and again.
If you need the money, you might want to arrange a garage sale so that you can sell your items. If you are feeling generous, you might want to donate them. Organizations like the Salvation Army and Goodwill will gladly take them. However, feel free to keep them so that you can enjoy them again. Put them away where you will know where they are. Then, when the time is right, settle in with a cup of hot cocoa and enjoy a good read or a good movie. Like leftovers, books and movies are sometimes better the second time. You can have a good experience and catch what you may have missed the first time.
