LG Bagless Upright Or Kenmore Elite Bagged Upright Vacuum

When looking for a an upright vacuum keep these things in mind: Look for a reliable Brand. That means check out the reviews and see if customers have mentioned anything about the construction or if they had to return it for one reason or another. Next, I would decide if I wanted to purchase bags for my vacuum, or would I like to get one you wash out with soap and water - then replace it maybe every six months. The bagless one is the cleanable filter. The bagged vacuum is the one you purchase bags for. Oh yeah!! Now how about the suction? Listen folks that is a big deal! Right? Having a very powerful vacuum is great. However, if you are going to get one with attachments and thinking about vacuuming the curtains, you sure don't want to suck them off the windows. Yikes!! It would be very wise to check the controls and see if it has a more gentle setting. Before making a an important purchase like a vacuum cleaner it is really a good idea to try before you buy if at all possible. Another good thing to inquire about, is the length of the cord.

Consumer Reports

Number 1 is Kenmore Elite 31150 bagged upright

  • Carpet Very good
  • Bare Floors Excellent
  • Tool airflow Excellent
  • Noise Good
  • Emissions Excellent
  • Handling Good
  • Pet Hair Very good
  • Price is around $350
  • Bags are disposable - HEPA bags 12 bags $52

The Kenmore Elite 31150 has a 3D Inducer Motor which is the most powerful Kenmore motor to date, with 20 percent more air power than previous models. The Reach-Out telescoping aluminum wand makes cleaning the stairs easy. The Power Flow - dual wall design with additional vents around the dust bag helps to maintain air flow circulation as dirt accumulates. There is an LED headlight, Infrared Dirt Sensor that alerts you to the dirt you can't see. An added attachment called the Pet Handi Mate - 4-position height adjust for convenience. I couldn't find the length of the cord, however, it did say there was a well built cord holder on the back of this Kenmore Elite 31150 Upright.

This vacuum has really wonderful reviews on Amazon. The only negative one I saw was that the aluminum wand was useless; it will only reach just above the windows. Most everyone said it was very powerful, takes allergens from the air and is good for people with asthma. The Kenmore elite LuV350P is great on carpet and bare floors. Also, there is no belt to worry about. These customers seemed to just be glad to get rid of their Dyson.

Number 1 - Upright Bagless LG Kompressor LuV350P Vacuum

  • Carpet Excellent
  • Bare floors Excellent
  • Tool airflow Good
  • Noise Good
  • Emissions Excellent
  • Handling Very good
  • Pet Hair Very good
  • Price is around $400

Most of the Upright Bagless LG Kompressor LuV350P reviews I read on Amazon were favorable. The LG Kompressor has a 5 year warranty against defective parts, which is a good thing since some of the reviews said the vacuum didn't last very long. That would be a Bummer! I think of a vacuum as a once every 10 year purchase.

This vacuum has a Kompressor® Technology, first motorized dust compression vacuum. It has a Drive Steering System and DualForce+Suction. Its Compact Design make it easy to handle. The HEPA Filter is great for removing allergens from the air and is easy to clean. This one has a 40' cord - not retractable.

To sum it up - both of these fine vacuums were rated No. 1 by Consumer Reports. Amazon gave the Kenmore elite 31150 Upright a 4.5 star rating and the LG Kompressor LuV350P received a 4 star. Both clean all types of floors very well. If at all possible I would purchase a warranty on both vacuums, I would do that for piece of mind. I hope this review has been helpful.

As always, thank you for stopping by and please feel free to leave a comment. God bless you!
