Forrest Lucas is the epitome of everything that's good about the 19th state in the union, Indiana. Although Lucas came from very humble beginnings, he's managed to rise to great heights through much effort and dedication to his Hoosier roots. Forrest is a hard-working individual that never forgot where it all started.
Forrest spent 20 years as a truck driver and owner of a nationwide long-haul trucking fleet. As a long haul truck driver, Lucas lived in many places across the United States but always called Indiana home. Forrest worked two jobs trying to build his own trucking company in Southern Indiana.
He was tired of his equipment breaking down and it was then that he realized the best way to meet his need for better oil products for his own growing fleet of tractor-trailers was to make them himself, so he and his wife Charlotte founded Lucas Oil in 1989 with a small bank account and some very big dreams. Innovative product research and development, along with aggressive marketing programs, has established Lucas Oil as a top-selling additive line in the American trucking and automotive industries.
Lucas is one of the fastest growing additive lines in the consumer automotive industry. A premium line of oils, greases and problem solving additives has helped to firmly establish Lucas as a prominent figure in this marketplace. Lucas also produces a heavy duty line of products for the industrial and agricultural markets.
Lucas has long been involved in the racing industry through multiple vehicle sponsorships and racing event promotions, at all levels. Seeing a need for better lubricants in this industry, the Lucas people went to work again. The end result was a line of high performance engine oils and gear oils that are second-to-none in the racing industry. Lucas racing products have proven themselves on NASCAR, NHRA, IHRA, USHRA and ATPA tracks across the country.
Both Charlotte and their youngest son Morgan drag race in the National Hot Rod Association, which holds the U.S. Nationals each year in Indianapolis, and Lucas Oil sponsors several different racing sanctions as well as hundreds of individual racers. Charlotte races her own 175-mph dragster in the Super Comp category and son Morgan runs a 300 plus mph. dragster in the Top Fuel category.
More importantly, Forrest and Charlotte are just good folks that care about people and share their good fortune through numerous interests. The family's charitable contributions expand all across the U.S. that includes children, the elderly, racers, medical-related charities, public safety groups, animal-related relief groups, and many more. .
