Imagine what it would be like to complete your pilot training in Canada? There are many places that you can learn to fly in the world, you may live where I am about to tell you about, you may also have always wanted to visit there from another part of the world. Before deciding where to complete your pilot training, let me just outline for you some of the really good reasons to learn to fly in this beautiful country.
Autumn in Toronto is a truly stunning season, the colours in the landscape really have to be seen to be believed. How many pilots will be able to record overhead Niagra Falls at 3500 feet in their logbooks? That would be just one of the many attractions of training to be a pilot in Canada. How about being on approach for Toronto, runway two six? It is an over water approach with spectacular views of the cityscape before a final landing, or a touch and go to do it all again:-)
Just 50 miles away from Toronto is Cootes Paradise , Hamilton Ontario, another awesome destination. When you are tired of stretching your metal wings with Pilot Training, take some time to chill and have a closer look at our feathered cousins and other local flora and fauna. For nearly 20 years, this ecological rehab project has gone from strength to strength. Managed by the Royal Botanical Gardens, it is an inspiration in what can be achieved; managing a damaged ecology to help it recover.
As your training progresses, you may want to travel further through this great country. How about a trip to Banff, Alberta? Set in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, over 4 million people visit the area every year. The town may be a small mountain community, but the welcome is warm all summer. The locals manage to host a large influx of people without losing the charm and tranquillity that draws people here in the first place. A challenging destination for your developing Piloting Skills, you may prefer to have a Canadian Airline take you to Calgary. Then you can carry on with your Pilot Training in the Rockies.
A somewhat nearer destination for the trainee pilot, is Tobermory, Bruce Peninsula. Just under 300 km from Toronto, it is another outdoor paradise catering for just about any outdoor pursuit you care to mention. For the less adventurous, an evening stroll along the boardwalk overlooking Little Tub Harbour might be your ticket to winding down after a hard days pilot training.
I hope that has whetted your appetite for a more adventurous approach toto getting your pilot training underway and choosing the fantastic country of Canada to start your career as a pilot. There are numerous Pilot Training Schools to choose from and your log book will be the envy of everyone you fly with afterwards.
