The Teach My Toddler Kit is an iParenting Award winning toy created to teach your toddler shapes, colors, letters, and numbers one through ten. It's actually a very comprehensive toy, consisting of 17 corresponding tools that work in conjunction to teach your toddler this basic knowledge. The tools I'm referring to consist of five puzzles, four board books, four posters, and four sets of flashcards. Not to mention, all of these pieces fit neatly in a portable carry case.
I just recently ordered the Teach My Toddler Kit for my son (I mentioned in my previous article that I was planning on getting one for his birthday). So, I received it, opened it, and took a good look.
When they advertise that all the pieces of the kit fit neatly into the carrying case, they do mean neatly. The pieces are packaged and organized in the case when you receive it, they even label which pieces are suppose to go where. I took everything out just to see if I could fit it all back in as beautifully as I got it. And I was shocked to discover that it barely took any effort at all to put all the pieces where they belong.
Next, I took a good look at the puzzles and board pieces. I had previously read and noted that some individuals had issues with the foam material these pieces are made of. The complaint was that they are flimsy and easily torn or bitten apart. I played with it a little, along with my son, and I honestly don't understand where this complaint came from. The material seemed very sturdy and buoyant to me. I'm sure these pieces will lose some of their resilience once they've been frequently used but, it's soft styrofoam. If you're looking for a toy that your toddler can't wear out or break, don't get styrofoam.
Now, does the Teach My Toddler Kit work. Well, I've only had it for a couple of days so, my son hasn't learned much yet. Based off of the reviews I've read, it delivers on it promise. That's why I bought it for my son! According to what I read, most toddlers had mastered at least one basic out of the kit in about a month. I also read some reviews stating that, when using the kit properly, their toddlers were able to learn all four basics before the age of 24 months.
So, based off of what I've read, the Teach My Toddler Kit is worth it's weight in gold. Based off of my personal experience thus far, the kit was worth the investment, especially if my son has as much success with it as I know other toddlers have had. Thanks!
