Teething Bling- A Great Teething Toy And the Ultimate Mom Jewelry!

I am addicted to necklaces! I always have been, I just don’t feel right unless I have a necklace on that I can fiddle and play with. When I became a mother, I went through some serious necklace withdrawal. My daughter seemed to love my necklaces just as much as I did, she was always grabbing the chains and trying to put my locket or pendants in her mouth. This was not safe for my jewelry or my daughter. So sadly, I stopped wearing any Jewelry. Then one day as I was checking out Celebrity Baby Blog I found my answer.

Teething Bling, Mom Jewelry, Chewable Jewels and Chewbeads, whatever you call it, I’m in love! I now have a collection of fashionable necklaces and bracelets that look great and can be chewed on. Babies have an irresistible urge to put things in their mouth, I guess that’s one of the reasons they call it the oral stage of development. Your baby’s mouth is their first connection to the outside world, it helps them to discover, and its a source of pleasure as well as comfort. A well attached or bonded baby wants to be held, they also want to suck and chew. Your baby engages you by putting whatever you have around your neck into their mouths. The more they chew on your necklace the more is represents comfort and security.

A great teething necklace should be soft on your baby’s gums and emerging teething. It should be colourful to stimulate the senses and it should be BPA free. Mom jewelry also does double duty as nursing necklaces because they help your baby to focus on nursing. All teething jewelry is meant to be worn by the parent or adult, children under the age of three should not be wearing any of this jewelry. Teething necklace are also meant for babies with emerging teeth, a child with a full set of teeth could possible chew through the necklaces or bracelets.

Dr. Blooms Chewable Jewels has been making awesome and chic chewable jewelry since 2003. They are created and endorsed by dentists. They are, of course BPA free, dishwasher safe and very fashionable. They make bangle bracelets, necklaces and key chains. Dr. Bloom’s chewable jewels are made from 100% food grade silicone. Their bracelets are great for tiny little hands and the key chains can be kept in you diaper bag as an emergency toy, though I don’t thinks I would be putting my dirty keys on it. Dr. Bloom has so many shapes & colours that its easy to match any outfit or mood.

Teething Bling by Smart Mom Jewelry was created in 2002 by two stay at home moms who have a strong commitment to product safety, they are a “real” family friendly company where bringing your babies to work is common place. Teething Bling is made from BPA free food grade silicone. Smart Mom Jewelry comes in so many colours it easy to find a few pieces to suit your style. They make jewelry that’s great looking and can be chewed on. Smart Mom Jewelry also has a great line for tweens called “Tween Bling”

Chewbeads were developed in 2009 and they are 100% silicone. Silicone is the material of choice because it is stronger and more tear resistant than many organic rubbers. It has no smell or taste, it is very stable and does not stain. Food grade silicone also resists mold and mildew. Chewbeads have been featured on the Today Show and Martha Stewart.

I just can’t say enough about how much I love my teething necklaces. They give me the opportunity to wear some really cool jewelry again and look great doing it. I can let my daughter play with my jewelry while I actually sit with my friends and have a conversation, and I can even usually finish my dinner. I don’t have to pack as many toys to occupy my teething little one because I am wearing some of the best teething toys around. I am proud to wear my Mom Jewelry anywhere I go.
