5 Natural Remedies for Your Chronic Pain

If you have chronic back pain, you want to find anything you can to make it stop. You will try any medication that your doctor says will work for you. However, you need to be careful with some of the prescription medicines that are on the market today for chronic back pain. You need to look for natural remedies for your chronic back pain.

Have you ever listened to the commercials for some of these very "popular" medications for pain? The list of side effects is as long as your arm. Some or most of these side effects are life threatening and in most cases are worse than what you have.

What can you do with chronic back pain? What natural remedies are there that would work for you?

Here are 5 of the most common natural remedies and how you can use them to help your chronic back pain:

1. Willow Bark

Willow Bark comes from the bark of various types of willow trees, just as its name implies. This natural remedy is used for relieving headaches, muscle pain and is even effective for treating ankylosing spondylitis, which is a disease of the spine. It is also very effective in treating low back pain.

Here is an interesting side note regarding Willow Bark. The active ingredient in Willow Bark is Salicin. When Ludwig von Beethoven's body was autopsied, the report was that he ingested an overdose of salicin.

2. Devil's Claw

Devil's Claw is actually an herb that is native to Africa. The roots and tubers of the

Devil's Claw is what is used to make the natural remedy. This herb is used for hardening of the arteries, back pain, arthritis, tendonitis, gastrointestinal upset, heart burn, fever and for kidney and bladder disease.

3. Nubax

I am not sure how many of you have heard about the Nubax. This is a piece of equipment that you kneel and lean into and it stretches your back. When it does this, it actually decompresses the spine so that water and nutrients can flow back into your discs that have been compressed over time and have lost water and no longer function. People say that they are completely pain free after using the Nubax for a few weeks.

4. Inversion Therapy

Inversion Therapy is similar to Nubax. But, with Inversion Therapy, you actually invert

yourself so that your feet are up in the air and your head is down. What this does is combat the stress of gravity on your spine. When you invert yourself, your spine is allowed to relax and the area where your discs are between your vertebrae is allowed to open up. When this happens, the discs will fill up with water and then suction to your vertebrae. Inversion Therapy is very similar to the Nubax but with the Nubax, you can put added pressure on your spine to create even more space in between your vertebrae.

5. Muscle-Balance Therapy

Muscle-Balance Therapy will allow you to see how your muscle imbalance is causing your pain.Using visuals to show you what your muscle dysfunctions look like, you will be able to see what the root cause of your chronic back pain is. You do exercises designed to correct the dysfunctions of your muscles, getting every side of your body to work the same. When this occurs, you are on your way to being cured of your chronic back pain.

These are just 5 of the natural remedies for chronic pain. Just remember to see your physician before you start any kind of alternative program for pain. That being said, please also investigate any kind of prescription medication that your doctor wants to prescribe to you for your pain.
