Does Exercise Cause Stress

This is an interesting question. Usually people ask if exercise will reduce stress, not if exercise will cause stress.

To answer this question, let’s take a look at what exercise does for you.

First, exercise can control your weight. If you exercise on a regular basis, your body will burn calories and you will lose weight. This doesn’t mean that you have to do strenuous exercise, just walk more or take the stairs instead of the elevator. These are just little things that you can do to keep your body moving.

Exercise can help lower your blood pressure and will help lower your bad cholesterol number. It will also reduce your risk of heart attack and stroke. By exercising regularly, you keep your blood flowing smoothly throughout your body and this does a lot to keep you healthy.

Exercise can boost your energy. When you exercise, you deliver more oxygen to your body and you build up your muscle tone. Your cardiovascular system will work more efficiently and when your lungs are working efficiently, you have more energy to do what you want to do.

Exercise will help you sleep. You will not only get to sleep faster but you will sleep more soundly. When you sleep soundly, your body has a chance to repair itself. When you sleep, the discs in your back actually take on water to replenish what they have lost during the day. This is a very important function to keep your back healthy.

Exercise will keep your sex life happy. Both women and men who exercise regularly have more energy for sex and this is important for maintaining a less stressful lifestyle.

Exercise can be fun especially if you do it in a group setting. If you job, do it with a group of people. It will not only be more fun but it will be safer than jogging alone. Go to the gym and work out with your friends. Being with friends will make the workout more fun.

So, bottom line, does exercise cause stress? Well, exercise can control your weight, help lower your blood pressure, will boost your energy and build up your muscle tone. Your cardiovascular system will work more efficiently and you will sleep better. When you sleep better, your back can repair itself. Exercising will keep your sex life happy and you can have fun by exercising with your friends.

So, does exercise cause stress? I would say, “No.” Quite the contrary. Exercise will help you relieve the stress in your life.
