Inversion Tables For The Home – An Affordable Treatment For Chronic Back Pain
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

For those who suffer with chronic back pain, finances and insurance may limit the types and amount of treatment used to alleviate the discomfort. Many chiropractors have sophisticated inversion tables where the degree of the angle and the length of time for the inversion are controlled by a computer. However, for those requiring multiple treatments, this can be an expensive proposition.

The good news is there are inversion tables that you can purchase for home use that are light weight and relatively easy to set up. This affordable alternative opens up inversion therapy for many people who would otherwise not be able to afford the pain relieving benefit that inversion therapy provides. There are many to choose from that won’t break the bank. The home versions vary from simple to more sophisticated depending on the budget. Most of them require assembly, but those who have purchased them indicate that they can be assembled in under an hour.

One of the biggest benefits to having your own inversion table is being able to use the table on your schedule. Those that are reporting positive results, indicate that they are using the table on a daily basis and this would just not be possible when having to visit a chiropractor due to either financial or time limitations.

One of the key requirements in a home inversion table is portability. Most people don’t have a room dedicated strictly to exercise equipment and like the idea of being able to store the table away when not in use. Comfort is also another key area of importance when choosing an inversion table. Some of the least expensive models simply don’t have enough padding to provide the comfort needed to benefit from inverting. When you are uncomfortable, you are likely to tense up which is counter productive to the intent of using an inversion table.

Probably the most important aspect of using an inversion table is that of stability. When inverting, it is essential that the table not rock or move in any way. This insures the safety of the person using it. To receive the full benefit of inversion therapy, it’s important to feel safe and secure so that you can truly relax the muscles of the back. If you have the sensation that the table might topple over, you’re not likely to be relaxed.

One of the more popular models is the Body Champ IT8070 Inversion Table. This table can usually be purchased for under $150 and gets mostly positive reviews from those who have purchased it. The most popular features seem to be its light weight design and ease of use. If you have a little more room in your budget, the Ironman Gravity 2000 Inversion Table also gets high marks and is popular for its thick cushion and comfort while using it.

No matter which inversion table you purchase, make sure that it’s sturdy and easy to use. Once you begin your inversion therapy, you’ll begin to feel relief from that nagging back pain that’s been keeping you on the sidelines.
