Lower Back Pain— 6 Easy And Effective Steps To Prevent Back Pain Caused By Prolonged Sittings

Most people contract lower back pain from sitting in the same tiring positions throughout the working day before the computers in their workplaces. While some workaholics are too mindful of their duties to mind their backs, there are others who try to sit upright following the oft-repeated conventional advice. Both ways, they cause stress upon their spine and develop back pain.

While work is essential, it should be noted that we will not be able to carry on the work, if we get pain in the back. So, we should pay attention to sitting position to save our back.

It is unfortunate that most of us ignore an advice simply because we think it is too simplistic to provide any benefit to us. We run after complicated and expensive workout machines and ‘expert advice’ and end up wasting money and time.

Here are some small, simple, easy and effective steps to ease tension on your back.

1. Allow your back to behave as it pleases. Don’t force it to stay upright, if it feels tired of this position. Keep fidgeting, changing and adjusting your sitting position to enable your back to be at rest and ease.

2. Find excuses taking short breaks from your sitting position. Pull your arms upwards if you feel like yawning. It will stretch your back; it will also give rest to it.

3. Stand up and sit down as frequently as you feel tired of sitting.

4. Drink plenty of water. It will give you a legitimate excuse to leave work and walk for a change to the toilet. Water also washes away the metabolic toxins that otherwise accumulate, harden up and cause pain in the tissues and muscles.

5. As you stand, walk or stretch your body, you may take deep breaths as you stretch out and exhale as you come back to normal posture. Deep breathing brings oxygen to your lungs and blood stream and purifies the system.

This will reduce the stress on the spinal column if you have been forcing it to stay in alignment with the back of your chair.

6. Besides these extremely easy steps that can relieve your lower back pain, you may also take proteolytic enzyme supplements especially if you are old. Proteolytic enzymes are known to fight inflammation and pain in our muscles and tissues.
