The Air Jordan III Retro just doesn't seem to be slowing down this year. 2011 has become "The Year of the Jordan III." And for good reason. No fewer than 6 different colorways will drop this year. At least for now that is. There is now some news that there may be another two colorways that could possibly drop. Two colorways that are very interesting indeed. These two colorways use material more commonly found on a pair of pants. What am I talking about? Well, khaki and denim is what I am talking about.
Earlier this week a pair of Jordan Retro III's in both a Khaki and Denim colorways were spotted. At this point it is still unclear as to whether these shoes will officially release. Are these just samples? Is this some sick joke meant to taunt rabid Jordheads? I cetainly hope not. These two shoes are perhaps the most uniquely designed colorways of a Jordan Retro ever produced. The elephant print that is set against a khaki and denim backing is creates a look we definitely not seen befor.
Sneakerheads and Jordanheads alike have always known that a pair of sweet kicks looks best when worn with a pair of nice jeans. The "Khaki" and "Denim" Jordan III's would be the best looking shoe ever rocked in a pair of denim's.
As we all know, this shoe, when originally dropped in 1987, saved the Air Jordan line of footwear. Michael Jordan was just about to meet with sneaker giant Adidas when Nike shoe designer Tinker Hatfield was assigned with the task of creating the thir Air Jordan. All Hatfield did was place elephant print on a full grain leather upper and complete the shoe with Nike Air in the midsole and the rest is history.
The Jordan line of basketball shoes has never been more popular. This line is actually more popular than when MJ acutally played. The Retros are quite popular and dropping quite frequently. They are also selling out quite frequently. The Retros have also been used recently to showcase some very creative designs and colorways. Colors and materials that have never been used in the past are now making their way onto Jordan Retros.
The Khaki and Denim colorways of this shoe, if released for retail sale, would continue the trend of never before seen designs and colors. Not only have they never been seen before, these colorways would never have been considered to be used as little as two years ago. It is the golden age of Jordan shoes for basketball that we live in!
