Some of the information given about ways to jump higher in basketball will be about plyometrics or "jump training" as it is translated literally. It is a high impact exercise and requires you to be extra careful and have added padding.

So anything with plyometrics make sure you land soft on the balls of your feet. This will help you absorb the impact evenly throughout your body. Make sure you have proper shoes and a plyometrics mat is recommended.

One being is that you don't want to overdo it. I understand that you want to be able to jump as high as possible as quickly as possible. But you need to realize that muscle isn't built during working out. Working out is what destroys the muscle tissue and recovery is where it is built.

So training destroys the tissue, and recovery is where the muscle tissue is rebuilt, bigger and stronger. So it is vital to have a proper diet giving your muscles all the needed nutrients to rebuild faster and stronger, and to get plenty of rest.

One study between two different work out groups, showed the effectiveness of this. One workout group just received water after their workout. The other group received protein, and the studies revealed something shocking.

The group that received protein, the muscle synthesis showed an average of 22% more growth compared to the group that just received water. They also found that there is a "window of opportunity" per se, of where the muscles will absorb the most protein. That is between 2 to 3 hours after the workout.

So these two simple tips, paired with the perfect jump training program will yield unbelievable results in adding height to your vertical jump.

More Ways To Jump Higher In Basketball

If you are looking multiple ways to add height to your vertical jump, then the next easiest way to add height is to control your breath. Plenty of people release their breath as they are jumping. However, this causes them to lose valuable height.

So instead, hold your breath as you are jumping, and release it as you are flying through the air. This is little known secret that can easily add height immediately to your jump.
