After reading a few articles about the benefits of organic coconut oil, I became very interested and eager to experiment. It's not every day you come across something great like this. I immediately ordered some from Amazon and began testing it. The first thing I tested it on was my hair since I have a dry scalp and dandruff. Ever since this day, organic coconut oil has been a part of my hair care regime. Every other day when I wash my hair, I massage a small amount of it on my ends before washing my hair in the shower. About once a month I will massage into my scalp to treat my dry scalp.
Many seem to believe that coconut oil is bad for you, but it isn't. After reading many articles and watching an episode of Dr. Oz where he focused on just three of the benefits of organic coconut oil: helps promote weight loss, treats ulcers, and treats skin conditions such psoriasis, acne, dermatitis, and eczema. I also checked out a video on youtube done by Dr. Joseph Mercola, a natural health expert, about the many benefits of coconut oil. Knowing that well known doctors are backing up the research about coconut oil and how good it is really helps.
My next experiment was on my skin solely as a skin moisturizer. I really don't have problems with my skin, maybe just the occasional dryness. I was able to replace my facial skin moisturizer and body moisturizer with the coconut oil. After my shower, I will melt a small amount in between my palms and massage literally from head to toe. I knew it was working when my daughter commented on how soft my skin is (she never did before). I have started using it to treat my cellulite by being creative and making my very own anti-cellulite lotion made of coconut oil and coffee grinds. Coconut oil for skin works great by improving its appearance.
My last experiment was to see how well it worked for energy. I began putting about a tablespoon in my coffee each morning with my regular cream and sugar. It actually tastes really good plus I have noticed a good increase in energy each day. Even if I don't get a good night sleep, all I need is my coffee and coconut oil and I'm good. This was the most important test for me and it passed with flying colors. After learning all the coconut oil benefits, you will be pleasantly surprised, like me, and rush out to get your very own to experiment with.
Another virgin coconut oil also called Memory Oil, is fantastic. I put it in all of my foods and over a month I'm losing a lot of weight! :) This oil can also be applied to the skin and removes wrinkles, and helps prevent alzheimer's and seisures due to epilepsy! Giver Memory Oil a try, and oh! Btw, Memory Oil tastes great! Lol give it a try
I should definitely try coconut oil for skin care. Thank you for the interesting article.
