The new Essie Resort 2012 Collection is on the shelves - which I will tell you already suckered me in 2 days ago while shopping at Target, and well just today I painted my nails with "She's Picture Perfect" - a beautiful iridescent lilac shade; one of the 4 colors from the new spring collection. Lilac is such a great choice because it looks good on anyone and any skin tone. But this color has a little something extra special...
Now before I forget to mention, some are calling this the Sure Shot resort collection, but what does it really matter?! I'm not actually sure myself, but I will have you know that there are 4 very beautiful and feminine colors that have been given, once again, some very cute tongue-in-cheek names:
- Pink-a-Boo - a babydoll pink with a slight glitter/sparkle
- Sure Shot - a deep magenta with a shimmer
- She’s Picture Perfect - not just your ordinary lilac as it has this iridescent effect
- No More Film - a dark violet that borderlines an indigo (next on my wish-list)
What do you think of these? Are they something that draws you in to spend a little more? I think there are some pretty good dupes out there, none of these colors is ulltra-"new" but true to the Essie brand they are lovely, that's for sure!
But you know? I have to kind of laugh because the colors in this Essie Resort 2012 collection are absolutely gorgeous - yes- but looking back on the 2011 quad I find that these 4 are almost more within the definition what we are seeing this spring as far as new nail polish trending colors are concerned, i.e. the minty greens, pastel peaches...
But hey, it's a win-win.
Fact is the new Essie Resort 2012 collection and 2011's are both available in-store or online.
In my opinion the new 4 shades are bright and fun, and yet have such a soft femininity at the same time. I'm pretty pleased with my own She's Picture Perfect swatches (samples) in both outdoor and indoor lighting do it pretty fair justice. I will tell you that the color is even prettier to the naked eye.
I honestly think this has to be the most exciting season for new nail polish trends. We are seeing so many, from pastels to bright neons, to multi colored manis and glitter galore. The best part about being a nail polish junkie is that it's truly an accessory that you can alter to your personality as often and you please. Happy painting!
The tongue-in-cheek names could so easily become article titles.
