Homemade Facial Mask Tips – Discover Five Things Your Skin Needs to Function Optimally

A homemade facial mask is useful to men, women and children. The ingredients used to make different types of skin masks can differ based on factors such as age, skin type and the problem one wishes to eliminate. Homemade masks are definitely better than commercial beauty products in terms of effectiveness and safety. They are made with fresh and natural foods purchased straight from the groceries. To make the right mask for the facial skin, people should understand the role of the skin deeply to discover what they need to give it to function optimally.

These requirements include the following.

1. Energy - Skin being the largest body organ is made up of millions of cells and tissues. The cells cannot function properly without adequate energy which is produced via metabolism. In order to arouse metabolic processes when the skin cells are active vitamin B complex is necessary. It refers to all essential water-soluble vitamins with the exemption of Vitamin C. These include Vitamin B1, Vitamin B2, Vitamin B3, Vitamin B6 and Vitamin B12. Alternative names for them include thiamine, riboflavin, niacin, pantothenic acid and pyridoxine respectively. Other elements in the Vitamin B complex include cobalamins, folic acid and Biotin. When making a homemade facial mask, people should use certain food items such as bananas, avocados and oats.

2. Antioxidants – These are special elements needed to get rid of the free radicals emitted during the oxidation process. The free radicals also come from the environment and they are responsible for the ugly skin blemishes and flaws such as wrinkles, sun-triggered skin cancer and dark circles around eyes. Antioxidants are found in Vitamin E foods such as green tea, tomato juice, garlic, carrots, berries, pomegranates and honey and they can all be used to make facial masks.

3. Lecithin – This is a lipid (energy reserve) component of body cells. Alternatively called phosphatidyl choline, lecithin is found in foods such as wheat germ, fish, peanuts, egg yolk, soybeans, vegetable oils grains and many others. Egg yolk and vegetable oils are commonly used to make a homemade facial mask.

4. Alpha Hydroxy Acids – otherwise called AHAs or fruit acids, Alpha Hydroxy Acids are necessary when the skin needs to shed off quickly. As a man or a woman ages, the skin’s outer layer requires more AHAs to remove its dead cells that block the pores. These elements loosen and exfoliate the stickiness of the material that holds dead cells together on the skin’s outer surface. Foods that can be used to make a perfect homemade facial mask that contains Alpha Hydroxy Acids include milk, oranges, lemons, unripe grapes, bitter almonds, cherries, apples and sugarcane juice.

5. Vitamin C - It is usually known to be water-soluble, meaning that it permeates your skin pores very quickly. What is more, Vitamin C is not stored in your body and so the reserves need to be refilled every day. It is needed by the skin to reduce the production of the oily substance called sebum. Foods that can be included in the homemade facial mask include avocados, almonds, mangoes, acerola cherries, cottage cheese, flaxseed oil, oranges, lemons and other foods.

You are quite right - anything homemade and natural does it for me and are indeed effective. People do not realise that our cosmetics, creams and suntan lotions contain chemicals which are harmful to us. They also contain estrogen making us all ESTROGEN DOMINANT!!

I totally agree with you. However, there are still many willingly to pay a small fortune on invasive beauty products and beauty procedures.
