Loreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator Mascara Review - For Green Eyes

Hi everyone! So today I'd like to write a L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator mascara review because I just bought this product about 3 weeks ago and I think I've got some valuable insight to share just in case you're thinking of getting this next time you're due for a new mascara, which by the way shouldn't be too infrequent!

First off, L'Oreal has created a line of Double Extend Eye Illuminator mascaras. There are different shades for different eyes colors. I have green eyes, so I bought the "black bronze". There is one that's been made for all eye colors called black crystal, but I was drawn to the bronze.

How does it work?

Well, the main idea is to play up your natural eye color by adding a layer of mascara that is intended to help illuminate your eyes. In my case, bronze helps my green color "pop"! The colored end is supposed to be infused with pearls... not too sure about that but it's definitely sparkly and very effective!

There are 2 steps to the process...

Step 1) Black:

Apply the black mascara to your upper and lower eyelashes. I usually go for a good 2 coats just to help pump up the volume. I find the brush is very close to the wand itself, not a ton of space which I find is common in other L'Oreal double extend eye Illuminator mascara reviews I've seen. So, it does take some precision to avoid any unwanted smudging.

Step 2) Bronze:

So next is the eye illuminator in bronze. This mascara is actually quite effective, and the sparkled bronze is captured really beatifully in the right light. I apply a good even layer to just the upper eyelash line. The brush on this end of the wand is almost like a ball. Not like a regular L'Oreal mascara wand at all. However, according to other L'Oreal Double Extend Eye Illuminator mascara reviews, this smaller ball-sized shape is intended specifically for getting a precise ammount of mascara just exactly where you want it, and not being forced to be applied all over. Makes sense!

I have been a HUGE fan, like millions of other women, of the L'Oreal Voluminous mascara. I definitely won't be replacing this with my new eye illuminator mascara, even though it's targeted perfectly for my eye color. Reason being is that I love volume and nothing beats Voluminous. Go figgure;)

One of my favorite uses for this mascara is to help create a dramatic look for the fall and winter. I wouldn't use this as my every day mascara, and in fact I don't even wear makeup every day.. but it's definitely a great choice for a fun and glam look.
