Yogurt And Honey Mask Types for Dry And Irritated Skin

The skin is the essence of beauty in both men and women. A few judge how old a person is by examining the skin closely. Being an exposed body organ, the skin struggles to keep itself young and healthy. The negative effects of free radicals on the skin are wrinkles, fine lines around the eyes, acne breakouts, skin cancer and scarring among other things. Although there are many beauty products for all skin types, most of them either aggravate the problem on the skin or do nothing. This is why people are turning to natural products. A yogurt and honey mask is wonderful since it is made up of two ingredients that are known to enhance the skin beauty.

Let use see the skin-care powers in each ingredient below.

Honey – It is a thick, sticky substance made by bees. Honey has been used since the days of Cleopatra to enhance the skin beauty. It is a humectant that has a natural ability to trap water from the air and retain it. This is why honey is an unfailing moisturizer that can help to keep the skin soft and moisturized. Honey is full of nutrients including vitamins, aminoacids and minerals. When applied topically to the skin these nutrients get absorbed easily and quickly. Honey contains antioxidants that are known to throw a fight against the causes of pre-mature aging such as UV radiation and free radicals. Above all, honey heals and protects the skin with its anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-viral properties.

Yogurt - It has a very high concentration of lactic acid which is a substance that is proven to exfoliate the skin, repair its pores and stimulate the manufacture of collagen. Lactic acid is preferred to other acids because of its mild nature that allows it to cleanse all types of skin without causing irritations. Moreover, yogurt’s thick, creamy texture makes it easy to use with honey.

Making yogurt and honey mask

The types of masks that can be made with yogurt and honey are unlimited. People can use their creativity to mix the two with other spices that are needed by the skin.
