We see it in every beauty advertisement out there, whether it be on TV or in the latest women's magazines. Every brand name out there trying to make a sale on their latest and most effective beauty products. And how do they do it?
Well one the most successful ways is by appealing to your emotions! Yes, you heard right. Getting you to buy on impulse by appealing to a certain emotion, usually an insecurity that bothers you most. And those same ads usually finish with some catchy phrase that gets straight to the heart... "You deserve it!" "You're worth it!" Bam there's your sale. And of course I do not mean to imply that you don't deserve to feel and look your best, of course you do! But should buying beauty products (or any product for that matter) be made on a fleeting emotion? An emotion that gets you to spend, spend, spend?
I would like to answer by saying first that I firmly believe that most of looking beautiful comes from feeling beautiful, inside and out. Those ads may to some extent remind you of this fact, but real beauty is a lifestyle, not just a quick fix, a product you smear on your face once a day. Oh and just a note, I am not putting down using cosmetics or other products, just trying to get back to basics. Feeling beautiful inside and out is something that should be celebrated each and every day. Something simple, practical, beautiful.
So the question remains how to we accomplish all this? I am a true believer in the phrase "Less is more". This proves true to the amount of ingredients we apply to our hair, face, and bodies every day. In fact the fewer and more natural the ingredients, the less likely to have any kind of negative reaction to. Also when we get to know the simple alternatives to many of the beauty products found on the store shelves, we discover how much money we can truly save. That to me is pretty exciting.
There are endless natural home remedies and recipes to be found online and I could not begin to list them all here. What I would like to mention are some of the easiest tips I practice in my daily routine.
1. Drink plenty of water! This is essential for beautiful skin, hair growth, and our overall functioning. You just can't afford to be without.
2. Get your beauty sleep! Lack of sleep is sure to show its destructive effects, especially in your face. Night time is when our skin is rejuvenated.
3. Exfoliate. Do this regularly and all you need is a gentle washcloth! This removes dead skin cells, toxins, and other impurities that rob your face of its natural glow.
4. Rinse hair with lemon juice to restore lost shine. This really works!
5. Use tea for more than just drinking. I especially like to use green tea bags for under my eyes as it's a great anti inflammitory and increases your skin's resilience.
These are just a few things that simple as they may be, make a huge difference in your daily beauty. The best part is they are healthy and natural ways that are achieved by little to no cost and they are lasting. There are so many specific ways you can research to improve and enhance your natural beauty and I really encourage you to do this! Celebrate your beauty. And remember, true beauty cannot be sold!
We live in a world obsssed with bodily perfection. Unfortunately, nowadays people focus more on external beauty; few realise that a couple of basic beauty rules can guarantee an amazing look even if you are in your late 70s.
