How To Achieve Flawless Skin At Any Age

1. Moisturize

Moisture is lost each time we take a bath, swim in the pool, go the the beach, expose ourselves to pollution and through many other things we do everyday. It's important to moisturize everyday every after bath so that the water is locked in our skin and stays there long enough throughout the day. Lotions, moisturizing oils and others are available almost everywhere so experiment which ones your skin would love.

2. Stay away from the sun

The sun's rays damage our cells and it shows in our skin. Unless you have a job that requires much sun exposure (I can't think of one right now), make sure the UVs do not catch a glimpse of you. In case you need to go outdoors, you must try to be friends with things like umbrellas, hats, sunglasses and sun screens.

Oh no, I'm not saying you can't go to the beach, but as I said, make sunblock/sunscreens part of your vacay. If you want to get a bit of tan, try earlier in the morning such as 8-9am or later in the afternoon around 4-5pm. I'm not sure if you could achieve the shade you want but at least you are sure your skin stays younger looking, no wrinkles when you go home or most importantly, prevent skin cancer.

3. Do not smoke

Smoke and caffeine dry up our skin cells and you know what dry skin means, wrinkles. If you don't want a wrinkled up skin at age 30 plus it's time for you to quit totally or at least try to lessen smoking little by little until you've completely gotten rid of the vice.

4. Exercise

Just as smoking dries up the skin, the opposite is done by exercising. Regular exercise provides the much needed oxygen in our bodies and releases toxins through sweating. From a 20-minute brisk walking daily to a regular 3-4 times gym session can be beneficial not just to our skin but our overall health as well.

5. Eat healthy

"You are what you eat" is one of the truest sayings there is. Whatever you feed yourself is most likely what you'll turn out to be. If you put junk in you, chances are your skin will reflect junk. If you mostly eat fruits and vegetables then your skin will be one of the best evidences. Glowing, moist and radiant skin is the result of good healthy eating. Stay away from bad snacks such as processed chips, cakes, sodas and all other fake foods. Fake being very far from the natural or original ingredient. For example, instead of snacking on banana chips, try a banana fruit or instead of potato chips, eat a potato or instead of drinking powdered strawberry juice buy a bunch of strawberries and eat them as is or juice or blend them into a natural shake. The idea is to eat foods in their most natural, if not their original state, not processed into some other forms.

6. Visit the spa

You work hard, maybe for an 8-5 job or a sales career or any other work. All work provide us stress in different amounts. It's all part of life, especially nowadays when women are a big chunk of the work force. Since you work hard, it is but fair to reward yourself once in a while. Women usually tend to hit the mall as a reward but if you're going to spend a thousand or two on shoes or bags, you might as well set aside P250-P500 for a spa visit. Instead of getting your blood circulating at the mall, the small amount can already get you a decent body or foot massage or a total body treatment, and would make your skin glow. A once or twice a month spa routine would not hurt your bank account but is worth a whole lot more in terms of benefits to your beauty and health.

Can't resist that midnight sale here and there? If you really cannot say no to the malls but still want to provide your skin with some TLC (tender loving care), you can try recipe books which use organic ingredients for anti-aging. These skincare recipes can be done at home with ingredients you normally live with in your kitchen.

7. Drink lots of water.

Water is the best drink. Our bodies are made up of mostly water and each day's activities drain up our bodies' liquids.Replenishing them keeps our skin hydrated thus maintaining softness, dewiness and moist. Ideally, 8-10 glasses of water is the best. I know you have encountered this tip lots of times and it's because it's one of the most important way to keep skin young and healthy.

8. Exfoliate

Exfoliation can happen naturally, if you notice that sometimes our skin peels. But most of the time skin needs help so that exfoliation can become a regular event for our skin. Get loofa scrubs and salt scrubs and apply or use them at home while bathing. There are also natural home exfoliation ingredients that we can find right in our kitchen. Sugar with honey applied to our skin can exfoliate them just as well as the salons can.

Younger looking skin has no rocket science to it. There are actually basic and simple steps to achieve great skin at any age. Discipline and dedication are all you gotta have to enjoy skin that does not reflect your age.
