On the 26th February this year I wrote an article on Genetic Engineering in plant seed, it was not a very “pat on the back” type article. However it now seems that the world is up in arms about the Genetic Manipulation and enrichment of industrial giants at the cost of the small local farmer and the people who have to eat this s...
A blog I follow, feels like me that these companies that manipulate the seed of our basic world foods need stopping, and now with a $ 7.7 billion law suit against Monsanto it's happening. Can this be the down fall of an industrial giant? I damn well hope so. These type companies with patents on seeds that they genetically manipulate, are the downfall of the farmer first and the idiots like us that eat their GM foods, second.
Why is cancer now so prevalent in the world, why are so many more cases reported of Lupus, Behcets, CFS and all these other autoimmune diseases? Because our Doctors are now more intelligent and the diseases are easier to diagnose? No dear readers, because we eat more of the natural foods that were given us on earth, (by whom ever you wish to say is your creator) that we have now taken and manipulated beyond the natural boundaries.
This law suit is not about the health of the product, but a taxation by the company on farmers using their own grown products as seed for the following year. These farmers that are suing Monsanto are saying that the company is gathering exorbitant income from the farmers each year that is slowly driving the industry to ruin whilst they get fat on the profits. The use of seed produced from a crop for planting next year, dates back to the times of yore, before such companies existed, yet now they're allowed to patent their seed and literally demand payment from you because you held back seed for renewed production.
In 2009, 17 683 farmers took their own lives as they could not stand up to Monsanto and found failing crops had put them in the face of ruin. Some taking their own lives by drinking the very chemical products this company produces (there's toxic waste for you). New information and law suits are surfacing reputedly about Monsanto's own disregard of those that work for them, if the don't "give a damn" about their own workers what makes anyone believe they would "give a damn" about the consumer. Another group are suing for birth defects in children, because the company knew they're poisoning the workers.
Why am I passionate about this, and the possible downfall of a giant industrial company? Because they are knowingly increasing the demise of so many people with deadly diseases. I strongly doubt that $ 7.7 billion will even dent the pocket of this company, in fact they will probably settle out of court, to keep the publicity quiet. Research on the relationship between the company and the US government show staggering facts, it seems that the USA is in their pockets, be it a democrat or a republican, they're assured of continued support.
A statement by Monsanto's communications director stated that it is not their duty to vouchsafe their product of biotechnological food, their only interest is in selling their product and as much as possible, it is the FDA's responsibility to make sure it's safe for consumption. The absolute tenacity of a company, to pump on to the market products they know are going to kill people. Knowing full well that the FDA will pass their products as they belong in the pockets of this company.
Do some research on the Internet and your eyes will open, this is not about food production or world health, but all about profit at the demise of you and I.
Go to the Oncology departments of hospitals, sit next to the children receiving chemo therapy, whose parents are praying to extend their children’s lives, by sometimes mere months, see the dying hoping to find a small amount of relief from the devastating lives they are living. Those that are hoping to survive to see children graduate or get married, hanging on with the thinnest of strings to life.
I sat next to a girl of 18 years of age, so thin I could probably picked her up with one hand, no hair her beauty stolen from her by the ravages of chemo and cancer. Her mother explaining her problems to me, as well as all the different cancers that have now attacked her, a good girl, studious and clever, who had but months to live. She asked her mother for a pastry, her mother could not help.
I dashed into town and bought her one, as well as all those with her, she ate but two mouthfuls and brought it all up. She apologised profusely, and the more I tried to comfort her and tell her not to worry, the worst she became. How sorry I felt for her, she knew she had not long to live. This happened whilst Linda was receiving her chemo, so the next month we looked for her, she had passed away. How dare we allow this type of thing to happen, the killing of our youth by money grabbing corporate industries.
Beware all producers of GM products, the world is out to get you and if they need a leader, I'll be right in front.
I thank the owners of Street Articles for not allowing profanity, this article would have needed an age restriction of no one under 21.
Big money my friend big money and they don't give a damn about you or me....
Another great article Rob no wonder your at the top, insightful and horrifying at the same time. Scientists in their pursuit to produce crops that can withstand bad weather, droughts and the like are up against corporations that want to benefit financially rather than feed the poor countries with their knowledge.
Yes Mark a frightening thought, it is about nothing else than profit...Third world countries are one of their targets... not to feed the masses but to rob and kill...
This is such an important topic Rob. Our very survival is at stake. The more these b's are exposed the better. Maybe that's our big hope. Just expose them everywhere. I'm joining you Rob, in the expose. The FDA is being controlled by Monsanto, and the pharmaceuticals. Every time the FDA approves a drug, they are paid a royalty by the pharmaceutical company that is producing that drug. Their tests are a sham. All the pharms want is to get that patent, so they can charge you and me and the insurance companies outrageous sums of money for chemo and the like. They don't care if it kills you. They threaten the doctors to adhere to their (FDA, AMA) protocol, or they'll lose their practice. And then they attack alternative protocol (doctors and scientists) that's actually healing people, and they discredit them mafia style. It's evil. They're not only causing cancer, but they are torturing the people they victimize and their families. Why? Because there are billions of dollars to be made. No humanity whatsoever. They are destroying farming as we know it. Would make a great sci-fi novel, except that it's real.
I agree with you all the way Joan, there is one of the universities that were paid to test one of their products, they proved it dangerous, Monsanto took the results said it was their patent and they did not have to share the findings.. The Varsity would loose funding from them if they made their findings public... Now there you have it an independent test proved dangerous and they squash it and continue to market the item... the web site millions against Monsanto has some horrific stuff to share... Time to expose these companies where ever we can....
Following the suggestion from Dr Becky Spacke I watched "Thrive" last night and was compelled to send a round-robin email with a link to everyone I know. This remarkable film compounds and confirms in a couple of hours that which most of us have always suspected. Crucial viewing!
Thanks Kim there is so much going on that we don't know about and seem powerless to stop...
You know Rob as I get older I am finding that it is more important now to eat better and take better care of myself and of course my wife. We have started eating more fruit, vegetibles and less meat more fish and chicken. How much better is it for you if it is laced with god knows what...maybe better off with pizza and burgers....damned if you do and damned it you don't...full recovery for your wife in my wishes for you and her....
Tim the problem is these days we as consumers have no idea what is GM and what isn't...I think now its a case of hoping the body is not prone to or weaken to the modifications that have been made, and that cancer is not the result... Like you getting on in age my worry is not so much for myself as it is for my Grand kids..
Great article Rob and excellent that you're bringing this to peoples' attention. There's a documentary on google video called The World According to Monsanto you might be interested in and also a website, Millions against Monsanto if you haven't already come across them.
Thanks Penny I have not seen either and will definitely go and have a look, I have another article pending... the practices of this company are mind blowing...
I have been in awe for years now at how our food is made, grown and processed to what feed us or the corportations that tell us this is good for us because yes it is natural....natural to whom??? And yes cancer is all over as I have had more than a few family members and friends pass away because of this sick disease....i wonder if these pigs eat their own food....I would think not....besides the polluted air we breath and the contaminated land we build on...ooh new mall....wasn't that land contaminated....I guess they cleaned it up....yeah when....when we were sleeping....i could go on how i feeel about the injustice in the world by the fat cats.....but we loose everyday....and yes 7.7 billion...what do they care they will jsut make more....in CAnada the tar sands pollute our air and our waters...the people that live down river that live their lives and eat froom that river are dieing of cancer...at what you would think is an alarming rate....but our Prime Minister (twit) denies and gives propaganda commercials to let the public think all is well.....money rules....moiney rules....money rules all aspects of life in this day and age....nothing can escape the greedy...we are just killing ourselves to live and we always have in the name of progress....progress for who....the poor women with her child dieing of cancer...no chance to live her life....I hate the new age....thats my take...
Damn Tim now thats a good reaction to an article some one else as pissed off as I am... I have a wife with cancer and these fat cats keep on enriching themselves at a cost to as you say the poor man.... I have sent out notices to all Golf courses that I have any influence at to stop using any chemicals made by the company... I would love to see a sales person from that company... Man how I would... I'm sure he would hit the street at a stink speed after I have a go at him...
Great Article Rob, I had no idea about this, but I tell ya is really p's me off to learn how destructive money and power can be and all in the name of greed, when just as easily that same money and power could be used for good. Did I read the following correct, "In 2009, 17 683 farmers took their own lives as they could not stand up to Monsanto and found failing crops had put them in the face of ruin." Over seventeen K, really? I am on to read your original article, and to follow your links for more research. Thank you so much for bringing this to light for me and I look forward to your next article with great anticipation.
The next one has been sent for publication, the more I research the worst it gets, and the fact that the company says they are not responsible for proving the product safe the FDA is really gets me cheesed off. They could knowingly send something in for approval that is unsafe and it slips through and people die.. "not our fault" attitudes can not be tolerated...
What an excellent article. I go with you right in front Rob. It is great to bring that in forefront for people to read and learn how that works. We should be very careful with what we choose to eat and not trust easily whatever the companies serve to us!
How true Maria, I cannot believe what they are getting away with in the USA and for that matter the whole world...Next article on its way...
Rob, I used to grow tomatoes from collected seeds but not this year, not one! Makes you think.
