Chicken Coops Houses

The idea of raising your own chickens in your garden or backyard seems a very romantic one. It may seem at first that it is no more than an idea - chicken coop houses are for carpenters and not a newbie like yourself. This is not the case, more and more people are realizing that building your own chicken coop is a goal that easily can be reached. If you go out to a local store and decide to buy yourself a brand new chicken coop you will realize that it is quite an expensive outlay. Getting yourself some coop designs and plans and then going out and constructing your own will cost you half the price.

The materials used in creating a hen coop are next to nothing in cost ( much less than you might have thought ). You can pick these materials in most simple d.i.y. stores and in some cases you can even use off-cuts of wood or even second hand wood. The tools you will need to build the chicken coop are very simple tools indeed - in fact, if you do not possess any tools you can borrow a couple of basic tools off a family member and these will do the job nicely.

it's a good idea to think about the tools and the materials well in advance before you start building the coop. Make sure you write down everything you need to build the coop in simple to follow text. The actual chicken coop plans are going to be down to personal choice ( your choice or preference ). First, think about how many chickens you intend to keep and raise ( what amount of egg yield will you want a month ). After you have a figure of birds in mind try to find some chicken coop plans that cover your needs exactly. If you are unable to find plans that exactly fit your thinking then always go for the coop that will be a little bit bigger than needed. By building a bigger coop you will be able to expand the project in the future if needed.

Your primary concern should always be the health of your chickens - the more space the chickens have to live in the happier and healthier they will be ( this means more eggs ). So find a suitable chicken coop plan and design and build your chicken houses and try to enjoy the experience - it is a lot easier than you may have thought.
