If you have been blogging everyday without any results, this might be a game changing article for you.
So, let's get something straight. As a new website, your going to need to do most of the promoting if you want your content to be seen. Established websites don't have to do any promotion for the simple fact that they have a huge following that come back regulary to read content and share it.
Here's a few things you want to fo after publishing a post
#1 Share Your Content on Social Media
Google does look at social interaction as part of their ranking algorithm.
To a search engine, it looks good when they see that your being shared. It's kind of like a thumbs up showing that they enjoyed your content.
#2 Social Bookmarking
I'd hit as many as bookmarking websites as possible to provide so SEO juice for your post so that it will rank better.
They aren't the best backlinks, but they will help especially if your competitors aren't doing any type of link building
#3 Guest Posts
Personally, I'd try writing two artictles and publishing them on another website. Make sure you post each article on a different website.
You want the sites authority sites. Posting them anywhere isn't going to help your rankings.
#4 Drop Some Comments
Leaving comments on high ranking websites can help not only build backlinks to your new post, but it can also help with getting people to your post and sharing it.
If you leave a good comment, people might be interested in seeing more of you so they'll click on your link.
#5 Check Your SEO
You should always go back to and check if there are more keywords to add in your article. Remember if you don't add keywords, your not going to get any traffic.
Keyword research is everything, it's how you find out what people are searching. I remember in my newbie days I had no clue what I was doing, I would just write and wonder why I never got any traffic. I know now what my problem was.
I was writing blindly. I was guessing what people where Googling and I was guessing wrong.
Wrapping Things Up
Try to build at least 10 to 15 high quality backlinks to your post.
And also make sure you've achieved at least 5 social media shares before moving on. It might not seem like much, but it can really ensure that your post gains traction instead of just sitting on your blog unseen. Like my post? See more from me here.
