Several years ago, I began looking for online publishing opportunities. I was interested in online publishing because I had already been writing for quite some time. I wanted the opportunity to finally be paid for my work. After doing some research, I came across two sites that allowed individuals to submit their work and earn money for it: Street Articles and Experts Column. I then began writing and submitting articles. Very slowly, I began earning some money. There are a number of reasons why I started my blog.
First, I desperately wanted to earn money. I equate earning money with purpose and value. When I am earning money, I feel better about myself than I do when I am not earning money.
Second, I wanted work that I could do anywhere, at any time. Most jobs are in a specific location, and the people working these jobs have a set schedule that they work each week. Writing a blog, I realized, would allow me more flexibility than that. I could stay where I was, rather than having to move. I could publish early in the morning or late at night. I could also take my work with me when I traveled. By taking my work with me on the road and publishing it wherever I happened to be, I would be able to write a piece that captured the way I felt at that particular moment in time, rather than writing it after the fact and then attempting to recapture those same feelings. I have often seen that a piece written after the fact does not have the same effect on readers.
Third, I wanted to work and learn at my own pace. I did not want my supervisor standing over me saying, "I need you to learn this by the end of the week." With my blog, I can learn at my own pace. I can publish as many articles as I choose, whenever I choose. It is entirely up to me.
Finally, I wanted no limits on the amount of money I could earn. I knew that if I earned more money, I could pay off my student loans and make a great life for my husband and myself.
If you would like a way to earn money that does not involve waiting for someone to call you in for an interview, you might consider starting a blog. There are several sites that will pay you for your writing. Look them up, check them out, and consider signing up. Then, look forward to a unique and rewarding life.
I think blogging is an excellent way for writers to share their stuff and develop their voice. I'm just getting back into it and truly find blogging a great way to learn. Good article
