Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

With the heat index in the 90s up here in the land of 10,000 Lakes we can defiantly feel that summer is in full swing, and nothings better than beating the heat than going to the lake to cool off and, kick back, and ride the lake. Boat Tubing is one of the best ways to beat the heat, with all that free wind in your face and the cool mist of the lake water its a blast.

Unfortunately many people don't have such a good time at the lake since many forget to bring some basic essentials when packing their bags for a day of boat tubing and Lake fun. That's why in this article I'm going to go over 4 things to remember when boat tubing this Summer.

1. Sun block - This is one is so simple, and many people don't realize it could even save your life. Even a few bad sun burns in your life can dramatically increase your risk for skin cancer.

That's why its essential to bring some Sun Block with you when your out cursing the lake on a sunny day. And don't worry ladies it won't ruin your chance to get a tan, I've worn sun block at the lake and still have gotten a tan so no need to worry there.

2. Well Fitting Life Jackets For Everyone on the boat - Did you notice how I didn't say well fitting life jackets for just the tube rider ?

That's because everyone in your boat needs to be wearing a life jacket and one that also fits well. Many people don't realize how easy it is to fall out of a flying speed boat if you hit the waves the wrong way. That's why its required by law for everyone to have a Life-jacket on, even if your the best swimmer in the world.

Because if you hit your head or hit the water wrong and get knocked out than being the best swimmer wouldn't really matter.

3. Make sure to have proper tags and Boating Licenses - Check with your local and state boating laws and rules. Many states have different laws on the books when it comes to boating on their lakes.

Its best to be in compliance than have to find out later that you owe a big fat fine because you didn't check with the rules and laws before hand.

4. Good working Inflator or Deflator - Tubing is great, but not when the tube is half full of air, so make sure that your have a good working Inflator that's easy to use and works.

Nothings worse than getting to the lake but spending 2 hours trying to inflate the dam tube, so plan ahead and make sure that you have a inflator that works and most importantly one you know how to use.

Well there you have 4 boat tubing tips to make sure your time on the lake this summer is more enjoyable than ever, by planning ahead and taking care of the little things it can prevent a bad day at the lake, make sure your towable tubes are sprayed off and cleaned well at the end of the day to ensure they last for many years to come. Have fun and ride Safe!!
