Bookshops Are Dying

The death of a book store is not just based on the high online market for screen books and or Internet distribution of existent literature, although this has a lot to do with it. High rent fees among other things are difficult to meet for people who live on a budget.

Store locations might get affected by less foot and tourist traffic as we all face higher gasoline prices and can not travel around as much anymore. Among others things the Internet and hand devices are providing with reading material without us leaving home.

Communication comes on either paper book or an e-book and either way expressions and forms of mental and visual exchange is still passing around. I guess there is a sense of lose among those who feel they will miss holding a book and changing pages.

But I think that this feeling is just a black or white way of thinking, and perhaps dismissing the new ways of communication might be the wrong way to go, because the way people read and buy books is new and different. So accepting and doing the best we can with automation and Internet goods may at least help us keep whatever communication we still have.

The purpose we have in mind for the things we use and how we use them is what is important. So maybe we should start using everything we touch for the better. Leaving behind the old ways that are obsolete but keeping what is still usable.

As I write and you read, publishing companies on the Internet are beginning to offer their goods, a lot of writers get discovered by Internet publishing stores and their books sell through the Internet world.

New editing formats better the current ones and easier to use are in use today, updated and reformed to aid in the new world of the self-publishing market. Printed goods might become an exotic and lost form of presenting words and pictures of information.

Today youngsters read books on the Internet while either listening to their preferential music genre, at the same time, or even while giving the book reading experience visual effects with the use of their Internet services and applications.

This is a different world, where a lot of mental imaginary invented by humans and made by machines gives a boost to the minds of people. No longer may reading a book be just a silent and quite activity, today reading becomes whatever the reader wants, in the end if used right it may just give people happiness.

But the main things is that reading and passing communication around for everybody to have is what matters.

Street Talk

I think an author has a much better chance of getting readers now than ever. I do love a hard cover book and I know there will always be some sort of book stores.

I do enjoy reading from something in my hand. Did break the habit of printing stuff that I get online! Sometimes taking notes on a page still... Interesting article.

a lot of people feel as you do. To me the change is strange, but here we are all of us reading from a screen.

As we adapt, I can see the advantage in terms of resources. Do hope we'll still have books. That's what I'm going to do now! Pick up a real book. As is my habit.

I suppose as I age books will be considered antiquated media and eventually of no real use but may hold value for a time. Amazon sells the Kindle version of a book a lot cheaper than hardback so there's incentive for you! The far future could see you entering the book world holographically - now that would be cool! :)

Yes, isn't that something. I think is amazing what is happening, as with other things printed works will be just collect-ables. Thanks for your comment!

It certainly is a different world although if I have a choice I will go to a book for information. I wonder if books will ever become 'extinct'. I think there are too many people out there who love them. Perhaps more of a 'print on demand' market will emerge in preference to a 'book store' which, as you rightly pointed out', are becoming less viable.

I do not think books will die altogether, but is not going to be the first way to communicate in my opinion. Thanks for the comment.
