Bowling - A Great Date Idea

If you surf the internet you will find no shortage of relationship advice. There is relationship guidance from the very beginnings of a romance to how to keep the spark alive after 30 years of marriage. You will find many great date ideas and how to attract a significant other. Just not in this article.

I'm just going to tell you why bowling makes a great date destination. Regardless if you are going on a blind date, a first date, a date with your life long mate or on any other date on the relationship spectrum bowling is a great activity.

Even though bowling is the number one participating sport in America, the sport is still over looked by many. It has so many aspects to it and caters to all skill levels and demographics. You don't have to be a "professional" to have a blast bowling. I remember one of the first times I went bowling as a young adult. (I was 19 or 20) I went with my boyfriend at the time and I told him we would not leave until I bowled over 100. We bowled five games, it was one of the best dates I had ever been on, but I think my best game was a 92. That was a long time ago, I barely remember my dates name and I wouldn't consider bowling a 92 a happy memory today, but I clearly remember that day.

Bowling as a date gives you ample opportunities for conversation without being too intrusive. You have a built in conversation starter (your bowling game). You can conveniently sit next to your date or you don't have to. Either way it is very natural. When bowling, you have the chance to look into your dates eyes and check out their "bowling form" when their backs are turned to you.

Bowling is fun as a couple or with a group. This is a great way to introduce your date to your friends and family without it being too overwhelming. (Unless of course your friends and family are professional bowlers - then it might be a bit overwhelming)

Bowling is a relatively inexpensive place for a date. Depending on where you live and what time of the week you go, you and your date can bowl two games each and rent shoes for approximately $15 - $30. There are even ways to save money when bowling. There are also many things to do at a bowling alley besides bowling. Most bowling centers have a food court, a lounge, and a game room. Some bowling centers may even have putt putt golf and laser tag. You can make an entire evening of your bowling date.
