In today's edition of Angel MedFlight's Perspectives, we feature Stacey Barnard. Stacey is an RN and CFN and works in our Flight Coordination department. Stacey plans and prepares all aspects of a patient’s trip from one hospital bedside to the receiving hospital bedside. Like most of our Flight Coordinators, Stacey is a certified nurse and case manager who knows the importance of making sure the air ambulance and medical transport process is as easy as possible for the patient and their family.

AMF: What are some of your favorite hobbies outside of work?

Stacey Barnard: When I’m not at work, I enjoy watching and playing sports. I do a lot of reading and I like going to movies. My favorite thing to do is play with my 20 month old toddler.

AMF: Tell us your most memorable experience at Angel MedFlight?

Stacey Barnard: I think the whole learning experience has been memorable as it was quite a challenging transition to this job from being an ER nurse. I have enjoyed learning the job and work well with my assistant Christine.

AMF: What is your favorite thing about working for Angel MedFlight?

Stacey Barnard: Team work. Every aspect of my job takes a great deal of planning and organizing

details. I couldn’t do it alone. So what I like most – no, what I LOVE most - is working with my

assistant Christine - she completes me.

AMF: What are your personal goals while at Angel MedFlight?

Stacey Barnard: My next goal is to be more comfortable and confident in my everyday job. I would like to continue my growth at Angel MedFlight and be a resource for other new employees. It’s always a great goal to stay respected by all my co-workers.

AMF: Talk about a particular story that has impacted you personally.

Stacey Barnard: I think the story that has impacted me the most was an infant we transported. I was working with new adoptive parents that were trying to get their baby home and needed our help. We were able to work with Medicaid to get the flight covered. The baby was given a chance to have a better life by going to live with these people and happy that we were able to assist in making it happen at no cost to the new parents.
