So you have finished planning for a vacation to the Far East and decided on Malaysia.
Then you think the first city you want to visit to start off your Malaysia travel adventures is Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia.
What is next ?
Well, the next most important thing is finding a good hotel to stay in Kuala Lumpur. A good hotel will ensure an enjoyable vacation while a bad hotel would definately leave bad memories of the trip - in fact you never want to come back again !
Most people I know have a hard time choosing a hotel. They don't spend enough time and effort searching for their hotel and in the end they ended up with something they don't want. Others expect too much and get too little.
However, Kuala Lumpur is an easy place to navigate and find places. The city is tourism friendly and English is widely spoken and understood. There are proper signboards and directional guides to most places. Trains, buses, taxi cabs and connectivity to various areas around Kuala Lumpur are excellent and very tourism friendly.
Step 1 is to do a search for hotels in a hotel booking online site. My favourite location to search is a place called Bukit Bintang - a district famous for shopping, food and entertainment. You can find many hotels there - I think you will be spoilt for choices !
Another good location is the KLCC area which has the Petronas Twin Towers landmark. KLCC has the Suria Shopping Mall, one of the largest in Kuala Lumpur and a nice park to sit around and see the greenery of Kuala Lumpur. It is a fun place to be especially with the family.
Jalan Sultan Ismail is another good option. This area is sandwiched between the Bukit Bintang and KLCC district in Kuala Lumpur. It is well-known for the 5-star hotels and entertainment and night spots dotting the area. A good place if you are single and want to meet someone for a drink, chat or go dancing !
Step 2 is to search for hotels based on prices. Many of the hotel booking sites have this function so use it. Search for Kuala Lumpur hotels below US$100 which is a reasonable price to pay for a room per night. Don't be surprised if you can see lots of 5-star hotels and 4-star hotels in this category. After this, you can decide on the types of rooms available and the number of days you be staying in the hotel.
Step 3 is to press " Buy", pay with your credit or debit card and the hotel booking is completed.
Three quick and easy steps to finding a hotel in Kuala Lumpur !
