How I Got Out Of Debt And Made Ends Meet

I wasn't never taught how to manage my money. When I was growing up I did with money what I seen my brothers do with it--spend it as soon as they got it. Money always burnt a hole in my pockets. I would buy myself clothes, jewelry and I even bought some friends. Money became my master.

It wasn't until I remember someone telling me I can't serve both God and money. That's when I begin to have internal conflict about it. I decided I wanted to manage my money better.I knew in order for me being less of a servant to money, I'll have to make some practical changes.

Implement The Decision

I felt like a slave to my debts with all the creditors pursuing me. They would call and threaten to report me to the credit bureau which wouldn't have matter because my credit score was already bad. My creditors were tire of me and I was tire also of myself so I reach out for help.

Rich Toward Spirituality

Sensing God was calling me to trust him more with my finances I ask my wife about me tithing. I knew she had experience in it and even though I had poor money managing skills I was always told that's what you do first. Nicole said our home is really about to become blessed, but first I should pray about it. I felt in my spirit I was doing the right thing.

Giving And Receiving

One lesson I've learned about money is generosity and responsible financial planning goes together. God taught me how to view money the way he views it; it's his and not mine. I learned every cent that I've earn came from him. I also learned he will like to have it all back by me paying my past creditors. I said to myself that's impossible for me to do. But it wasn't impossible with his help.

You Can't Take It With You

It's not how much money I've made, it's more about what I did with my money that matter most. I began to pay myself after I paid God. Paying yourself is a big part of your financial freedom. Then I called my creditors and set up payment plans and little by little I began to catch up one creditor at a time. At last I got my credit report and started disputing any thing that didn't seem correct.

I begin to experience financial freedom but I mostly experience spiritual freedom.

You don't have to feel alone in making ends meet or feel like a slave to your debts. Money issues isn't about money it's about spirituality. It's about learning how to manage you emotions as well as your finances. It's about learning how to prepare for the future and to really prepare for the future you have to look beyond finances.
