By doing this your body is going to add on the pounds because your calories will be over your basic caloric intake.
The number 1 reason people don't gain weight is because they aren't eating enough. While it may seem like you are, doing this shows you just how much you really need to eat to see an increase.

The next thing you need to do to gain weight is to do the right workout program. When you're working out there are some exercises that are simply better at adding mass to your frame. The best exercises for this are called compound exercises. These include the bench press, military press, squat, and deadlift.
These are great exercises to do because they allow you to work more than one muscle on your frame. When trying to gain weight you need to try and do low reps and more sets. If you have plans to gain weight but still run 5 miles per day you're not going to see much success along the way. You have to focus on the goal you really want and go from there. In fact, most bodybuilders limit the amount of cardio they do until they have to slim down for a competition.
Depending on what your goals are, it's best to do as little cardio as possible. This doesn't mean that you need to give up cardio, it's just means that you need to do it for 30 minutes per week instead of 30 minutes per day when you're in the gaining phase.
