How To Get 6 Pack Abs Fast
Join 1000's of Authors at StreetArticles Today!

The most common questions on weight loss and fitness discussion boards and forum revolve around getting 6 pack abdominals and doing it fast. Keeping in mind that fantastic abs are not that hard to create. Many believe that in order to create fantastic looking abs, you have to be a celebrity or professional athlete with a personal trainer and all the other accoutrements.

First, there is no special equipment needed to create these ultimate signs of fitness. If you evaluate abdominal muscles and how they are acquired and act accordingly, you too can have six pack abs, even if you don’t have a personal trainer or belong to a gym. However, it takes more than just a little desire. Some time and real effort will be needed to burn off the excess fat present on your body. A second misconception is that you have to build six pack abs. The reality is that you already have the muscles that make up the six pack abs in your body and they are already toned. Unfortunately they are hidden behind layers of excess fat.

The third general misconception is that there is a supplement or magic pill that will tone the body, lose the fat and expose the six pack you have hidden. Any expenditure on these types of items are simply a waste of your money. The only way to earn six pack abs is to find a balance between exercise and nutritional calorie intake. Here are the basic guidelines to follow.

The Diet Plan:

In the past diet plans have contained 3 meals at even intervals with calorie intake at breakfast, lunch and dinner. But more modern and scientifically proven plans consist of eating six times a day – basically smaller portions of breakfast, lunch and dinner with snacks inbetween. The goal is to create a constant stream of calories to fuel the body, instead of huge chunks taken in all at once. Abs, more than any other muscle group is about food intake, both in terms of calories and nutritional value. The best plan is to adopt a diet high in protein, nutrients and enough fat to keep healthy, but skip processed foods or foods high in sugar or empty calories. Water is extremely important as is fibrous foods. Your diet should feature fruits and vegetables, lean protein and whole foods and by all means avoid fried and junk foods like the plague.

The Exercise Plan:

Really, since the abs are already toned, your exercise plan should consist of mostly fat burning exercises with a few ab exercises mixed in. Consistency is going to be the primary concern of exercises, do them regularly and do not skip workout days. The most effective abs exercises include planks, mountain climbers and crunches. Mix in weight lifting for body balance and use interval training for your cardio. While cardio is the most recommended ab training exercise recommended by trainers, the reality is that a consistent high intensity interval training regimen is easier on the body, less time consuming and more effective in losing fat.

For many years, sit ups and other abdominally focused exercises have been the conventionally accepted way to get six pack abs. However, a more effect cardio program with exercises like planks and mountain climbers, along with an appropriate diet will do the job much more effectively. Six pack abs can be achieved faster than you believe possible, but only by following the right diet, along with correct exercise program guidelines.
