When people see the massive size of most professional body builders, they automatically think Steroids. They assume that in order to get built like that the only way to do it is with the use of the anabolic substances. Yes, it's true that throughout the years, the use of steroids in the body building profession has been an issue. However, it is not necessary to take them in order to get massive.

A lot of research has gone into the best and fastest ways to obtain natural muscle gains. In the past, steroids were about the only supplement that you could take in order to the massive size. Even Arnold Schwarzenegger admitted to using steroids at one point in time. That, however, is not the case any longer.

Science has given us bodybuilders many different supplements to aide us in achieving the natural muscle gains that we are looking for. Everything from protein and meal replacements to things like creatine and nitrous oxide boosters. All of which are natural body building supplements.

Supplements aren't the only thing you need in order to get the massive gains that you are searching for. There are three other areas that you also need to address. Without these areas, there would be no muscle gains.

Nutrition - Your diet plays a big part in getting the muscle mass that you want. Supplementing your diet is OK, however, it is still necessary for you to eat healthy. In order to gain muscle, you need the proper nutrients. Food is the best way to get the majority of the nutrients you need, as well as the calories that your body needs for energy.

Training - You can eat and take all the supplements that you want and never gain an ounce of muscle without doing the weight training. The key to building mass is simple, you have to do heavy weight and keep your muscles confused. Going heavy doesn't mean do nothing but one rep. max exercises. Instead, do weight that you can get between 6 - 8 reps per set before you reach muscle failure. Be sure that when lifting weights you have a spotter.

Rest - The fact of the matter is this, getting enough rest is just as important as the actual weight training itself. Without the proper rest, your muscles aren't going to grow, regardless of how much you train. Try to get the 8 hours of sleep every night that your body needs. Also, give your body days off from training. You need the time off for your body to completely heal the muscles that you have torn down.

So, natural muscle gain takes a combination of these three areas as well as supplementing your diet. To get the results that you want, address all of these areas and do not neglect any of them. You can get the physique that you want but it is not going to be handed to you, you are going to have to work for it.
