Top 10 Foods to Build Muscle

With so many different types of food available to you in stores, it can be confusing when it comes to choosing the top foods to help build muscle. This is why I've came up with a list of the best choices to make when learning how to pack on lean mass. Once you understand what the foods are, and how they help your body, recognizing and including them into your diet wont be a problem what so ever!

Fish: The reason why fish is #1 on this list is because it should be an essential part of everyone’s diet (unless you’re a vegan of course). It is pack with very lean protein, some even containing as much as 10g of protein per ounce. Fish such as Tilapia and Salmon contain Omega-3 oils and monounsaturated fat which is a GOOD fat that induces and promotes natural lean muscle growth.

Chicken: Chicken is the go to food when it comes to gaining muscle. This is because the protein to fat ratio is very good, with chicken being packed with lean mass. This is the most popular when it comes to building a healthy meal because if cooked right, it goes with just about everything. A suggestion when cooking chicken is to broil or oven bake to reduce the amount of fat intake when frying with fatty grease.

Lean Ground Beef: Also, like chicken, ground beef is packed with protein. But what makes it so special is it has an abundance of vitamins and minerals. These include Iron, Zinc and Vitamin B12. The best type of ground beef would be Ground Sirloin. It contains around 7-10% fat which is very good and is why it is rich in flavor.

Whole Wheat Pasta: This is a great source to help you load up on good carbohydrates to energize you throughout a workout and for the rest of the day. It also helps you ingest a ton of calories so you wont lose more than you gain.

Milk: One of the best sources of muscle gain can come from replacing a simple cup of water with a cup of milk. Imagine if you drank half gallon of water on a daily basis, but replaced a forth of what you drink or even half with milk. You’d be getting extra protein in an easily digestible form of liquid. It would be even better if you got low-fat/fat-free milk to stay away from all the bad stuff.

Eggs: Breakfast is the most important meal of the day which is why it is essential to consume a lot of calories during this period of the day. Eggs are cheap and are packed with protein which is why they make a great addition to this list. You can cook them fairly fast during morning hours and they taste great with a lot of things if you mix and match the ingredients right.

Nuts: An excellent way to add extra calories to a diet is to include nuts into your plan. A quarter of a cup generally has around 300 calories and is rich with protein while also having healthy fats. It is a good snack if you are on the go and they come in a variety of styles and flavors.

Peanut Butter: Good things come in small packages, as it is with peanut butter. If you have a hard time eating a lot of food then this is perfect for you. A whole wheat sandwich with peanut butter not only gives 500 calories but it is very easy to digest and taste great with a glass of milk. It doesn’t leave you feeling overstuffed nor does it leave you feeling as if you had nothing to eat in the first place. Which is why adding a 2nd sandwich to increase your caloric intake wouldn’t be hard at all.

Olive Oil: So you want to add maybe 100-200 extra calories to your diet without even know it? This is the perfect thing for that. Olive oil contains great fats that are essential to a diet and it contains 150 calories per tablespoon. Not to mention that it is tasteless and can be used to cook with just about anything, from your chicken in the evening to your eggs during the morning hours.

Greek Yogurt : High in protein for muscle growth, easy to consume, and rich in calcium and vitamin D. What more can you ask for in a snack that can be eaten in a couple of minutes while adding 300 calories to your diet. Yogurt also has good bacteria to help promote a healthy immune and digestive system.

Learning how to build muscle is VERY easy and should not be a hassle to anyone what so ever. Getting the proper diet and learning to basics should not be hard at all which is why I've created how to gain muscle. It has products and reviews with all of the need to knows when you are trying to pack on some lean mass.
