For most of you beginning a easy meditation routine can be daunting and challenging. There are so many resources out there it may seem limitless. And for those of you looking to use meditation as a tool for relaxation and stress relief it seems to be doing the exact opposite! But don't fret I'm going to highlight what encompasses easy meditation. I'll go through a few simple meditation steps that will get you started right away.
Let's Begin!
First, on the list for easy meditation is finding a place to meditate. It doesn't need to be s special room that you've decorated specifically for meditating. It can be as simple as a corner of your bedroom, or even the bathroom floor! It just has to be a quiet spot where you wont be disturbed, and wont mind spending a little portion of your quiet time each and every day.
Found it? Great, let's move on!
Next on the easy meditation list, is breathing. A simple but extremely important aspect of meditation, and life. But I bet you already knew that. i'm going to cover the type of breathing used in zen meditation. It begins like this: close your teeth and lips, and suck all the moisture out of your mouth, while pressing your tongue against the roof of your mouth. Then simply breath in and out of your nose. That's it!
After having breathing nailed down your already half way there! The next easy meditation step is posture. For most it's easiest to sit cross-legged. At this point you can either sit directly on the floor, or raise yourself up by sitting on a meditation cushion, or even just a pillow from your bead. Next is to make sure your back is straight, and act as though your pushing up with the top of your head, this will help to straighten your back. Have that down? Let's keep going!
The last easy meditation step I'd like to cover isn't really a step, but more of a mindset. When meditating it's easy to get discouraged, it's different than anything we do and it's hard to progress quickly. However, you must remember not to set goals for yourself when meditating, unless that goal is to meditate everyday, then by all means do it! But don't set progress goals if you take the time to meditate everyday or whenever you get a chance then that's all you can do. It's not a quick process, so don't expect to see huge results within the first week, but keep at it and it will pay off.
That about sums it up for easy meditation steps. Remember easy meditation is just a couple minutes away. Finding time, breathing, posture, and mindset are four simple techniques that you can apply today. Meditation success begins with easy meditation and it starts today!
