Food additives and contaminants are ingested every day, by the ton, literally. And unfortunately, a lot of this volume is in energy drinks. Chemical food colorings, artificial sweeteners, artificial flavorings, lab made vitamins, and who knows what quality water goes into these neon, "neuro", X number of hours, energy drink mix shots. I am going to suggest to you that you switch to a handy pocket-size energy boost, and with the benefit that you can protect your brain.
I cringe when I see someone I love glugging down one of these montrous concoctions, because it's handy, it's cold, or for some other reason experienced as better than coffee. Freshly ground organic coffee has antioxidants in it, which protect your brain, in contrast to the food chemical neurotoxins that specialist medical doctors have been warning us about for years.
Substitute these "Frankendrinks" for an energy drink mix with real vitamins, about half the caffeine of a cup pf coffee, and guarana, which is a stimulant, but a stimulant that works differently.
Guarana, or guaranine, is a natural botanical product that has omega three fatty acids in it. These fatty acids slow down its ingestion rate, so that the stimulating effect is slower and longer lasting. Unlike a cup of strong coffee, which spikes your brain power, then once metabolized, causes an energy slump, guarana gives you a more long-term energy boost.
B vitamins are important for your brain power. Make sure you get some B12 in there too. Chromium should be included in your daily diet, as it is involved in blood sugar and fat burning management.
There are several low and no carbohydrate sweeteners put into the healthy energy drinks, botanical products, that do not affect your brain health in a negative way. Xylitol is one that I will mention, just because it may loosen your bowels a little, though this effect goes away when you get used to it.
Please don't think this is just my opinion, but after I read some books and articles by such esteemed doctors as Russell Blaylock, a neurosurgeon, author of "Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills", and "Stop Alzheimer's Now!: How to Prevent & Reverse Dementia, Parkinson's, ALS, Multiple Sclerosis & Other Neurodegenerative Disorders", with Dr. Bruce Fife, - I said goodbye to artificial sweeteners and MSG.
It just doesn't seem smart to take such a risk with your brain cells and eventual brain damage when it is so easy now to ingest healthy foods.
What do people want for convenience now? Foods and beverages that support their daily work loads. It's so great that you can throw a little package of an energy drink mix into your pocket, your gym bag, or your purse, one you can enjoy and still protect your brain.
