There are so many aspects of the net – it truly is the information highway. But how do you learn the net and get on to the highway? And how do you navigate once you get there!. You can buy books (hard copy and ebooks), software programs, puruse elearning sites - the information is unlimited, and often times overwhelming! My route was (and is) through Internet Marketing.
Internet Marketing is such a broad topic, but basically Internet Marketing is working on the net to align a consumer with a product or service. And the marketing techniques you learn to be able to do this will lead you in to learning these internet tools/components:
• website and blog building, • social networks – such as Facebook or Twitter, as well as blogs and forums • emailing, • coding links, • understanding search engines, • digital marketplaces, uploading images and videos
and of course learning computer jargon in order to accomplish it all.
One of the first emotions that the human brain experiences when learning something new is fear, closely followed by confusion or frustration. Everyone feels these emotions when in the process of learning; and to learn the net can be like learning a foreign language – especially the computer jargon, lol (that stands for “laughing out loud” for those that don’t know). This is why I decided to embark on Internet Marketing by choosing a program that would give me constant support and all the tools – through tutorials, videos, etc. – to learn every aspect. Plus it's easier to learn with others - a community of people that you can ask questions to and share insights and frustrations.
Of course if you’ve ever done a search on the net for Internet Marketing you’ll know there are a number of avenues you can take to learn – books, online courses, packages with how-to cds. And yes there are some scams out there – those that say it’s easy and you’ll be making money in a month. Learning requires work, and learning all the different aspects of the net, and how to navigate them, is no different. But when it’s interesting it’s worth it and the bonus of doing Internet Marketing is the end product can be that you've not only learned, but you've created income.
I recently created my first website, Learningtheinternet.ca, using the resources on the training site I chose. Check it out, and happy surfing.
