When it comes to choosing a diet how on earth are you going to tell which one is for you or which ones are a basic scam. With so many diets online today it is very difficult to pick one for yourself. I should say that only a small portion of these diet plans are a scam and many are diets that work. One way to find out is do a little research on the author or the company that are producing the diets. At the end of the day diets that persuade you to 'fast' or 'starve' are just plain dangerous and your body and health will suffer - you want to stay away from these at all costs.
If we hear the terminology 'low carbs' at once we look towards the Atkins diet. This diet is very well known and was created by Dr. Robert Atkins in 1972 . This diet is still very popular and is still considered one of the modern day leading diets and is trusted by millions of people. Dr Atkins was a cardiologist in the 60's and noticed himself getting overweight at the age of 32. He came across an article saying you did not have to starve yourself to lose weight but just cut back on the carbohydrates you consume. He then created his own diet on these principles and recommended it to some of his patients. The rest, as they say, is history.
Lets face it, most of us over the age of thirty have tried some sort of diet. Thirty seems to be the cut off point when our muscles wave a little white flag and finally start to give up on us. We've mentioned the Atkins Diet and it's popularity but now we'll move on to a diet called 'The South Beach Diet'. This diet is similar to the Atkins diet as it also reduces the amount of carbohydrates you put into your body. This particular diet bans unhealthy fats but promotes fats that aid you in keeping healthy. Out of the two diets the South Beach diet is probably the more balanced of the pair.
There are way more diets out there to choose out of but the more popular ones sometimes tend to be the more tried and tested methods. Remember, starving yourself will never work as a diet option ( and it will be no good for your health ). If your body thinks it is starving it will shut down it's fat burning process. Diets that work are not that hard to find if you do your research and pick one that suits your lifestyle.
