Well known motivational speaker Zig Ziglar died Wednesday at a hospital in Dallas, TX. Ziglar was 86 and lost a battle with pneumonia. The reports of when and how Zig Ziglar died were first seen on his Facebook page. The page asks for comments and reflections on the life and influence of Zig Ziglar. The family desires to see all comments and brevity is not encouraged!
Zig Ziglar's career spanned more than fifty years and included motivational speaking throughout the world as well as authoring over 30 books on sales and motivation. Many of his books have reached the bestseller list and have been translated into other languages. Ziglar has appeared on numerous major network television shows, been featured in major magazines, and even appeared with many US Presidents. He was focused on helping people reach success and has been described as a "salesman's salesman." He has been awarded countless honors and recognitions over his lengthy career, making him one of the most sought after speakers worldwide. Ziglar is survived by his wife of 65 years, Jean.
Zig Ziglar is an outspoken and committed Christians having given his life to Jesus Christ in 1972. Ziglar has professed his Christianity outwardly in his books and and speaking engagements, drawing from the Bible regularly. He claims this association is received with enthusiasm! He is also a major proponent of "Golden Rule" living. This idea is drawn from the teachings of Christ with the idea of doing to others as you would have done to you.
