#1 The Ziploc Bag – If anyone has ever been out camping and a rain came up you know exactly where I am coming from. A cheap Ziploc bag is a life saver when it comes to protecting your phone and wallet form getting wet.

#2 Old Carpet/ Vehicle Mats – If I ever run across any old carpet or small rugs I try to keep a few. There is nothing nicer than to have some carpet on your tent floor or a rug to set your boots on to keep the mud off of the tent floor.

#3 The Mummy Bag – If anyone has ever gone cold weather camping I hope you had a mummy bag. A mummy bag is essentially a super sleeping bag. You can buy them with different temperature ratings. They trap your body heat inside and use that to keep you warm. Believe it or not, you will find that the less clothing you wear to bed in a mummy bag the warmer you will be.

#4 The Ultimate Water Cooler – When it is extremely hot outside all you want is ice cold water. However, unless you buy an extremely expensive cooler you are constantly buying more ice. The solution I found works pretty well. I took a large cooler with a drain spout. I sat the cooler on a crate or a stump. I filled the cooler almost full of ice then I added water. I shut the lid and placed the cooler on the crate where I could get to the spout. If you don’t open the lid and cover the cooler with a tarp so it is not in direct sunlight you will have ice cold water for several days and this is a pretty cheap setup too.

#5 The Twine Clothes Line – Every camper should have a little bit of twine. Not only can you use it to build some pretty cool camp gadgets, you can also tie up a line between two trees for a nice clothes line.

#6 Carport – If you go camping a lot you might try to find a cheap carport or pop up shade. They make for a nice shelter from the sun or the rain.

#7 Pallets For A Rainy Day – If you have any spare wooden pallets laying around this idea will definitely remove the chance of water in your tent. Take a couple pallets and cover one side of them with plywood. You can set your tent up on top of the pallets. You have a plywood floor and are elevated off of the ground. The bottom of your tent will never be wet again.

#8 Eggs On A Coffee Can – Take a metal coffee can and turn it upside down. You can set it on top of your coals and you have a griddle to cook your eggs on.

#9 A New Use For Your Dryer Lint – Instead of throwing out your dryer lint save it. It makes nice kindling for your fire.

#10 Camp Fan – If you have ever camped in the summer you know how unbearable hot summer nights may be. The solution that I found was a battery powered fan. It doesn’t put out much air but it is essential for hot nights.
