Cancer What Is It? – Article 2 Of 10

Knowing the little that I know about cancer, I am certainly glad that I don’t smoke or eat junk food. That’s absolutely for sure. I’m also thankful that my mom made us eat vegetables out of the garden all the time when we were kids instead of going to the fast food restaurants of the day like all the other kids. I’m thankful that my father had a background in soil sciences and had a garden that everyone in the neighborhood envied. I’m glad that, for some reason I can’t explain, on the way to school I would dump out my sandwiches and load up my lunch bag with as much of the fresh fruit that was in season as I could. There were lots of fruit orchards on all sides of our neighborhood.

I now recognize the value in leading a fairly physically active and stress free life. I no longer take mild offense to comments that my friends made over the last 30 or so years like “you’ve taken one too many Dale Carnegie courses” or “how can you be so happy this early in the morning?” I’ve generally led a very positive and upbeat life, full of laughter and good times. I’ve had the odd cycle of stress, sometimes with some negativity associated with it, but I don’t like that mindset and have generally been pretty good about dealing with it instead of letting it eat away at me. And I’ve generally considered those cycles to be something that were intended for me to learn from so I didn’t repeat something.

I’m very thankful for all the family and friends - and even the occasional stranger - who have provided me with all the good times and laughter. Writing these articles for friends, you folks, and myself has allowed me to realize that the fight against cancer is winnable. It takes a good balance of spiritual/mental/emotional health, physical health, and a nutritious diet.

These articles aren’t going to introduce you to any revolutionary new miraculous “silver bullet” cancer cure information. I’m not about promoting any one thing, unless I absolutely believe in it. I’d rather give you a bunch of information and let you sort it out in a way that makes sense for you. In fact, a lot of the stuff referred to in these articles you are probably already aware of in some form or another. They will provide you information on a number of the alternative cancer treatments in practice around the world so to help you become more informed in your decisions on what is right for you.

In order to protect myself (the author) from possible legal persecution in some countries you should know that nothing in these articles are intended to prescribe a cure for cancer because it is illegal to claim a “cure” for cancer in many countries. Rather, they are a compilation taken from the internet and published books of what some of the common alternative treatments are. Some of the treatments listed are purely natural in food source, where as some are based in drugs or electrical machines.

Personally, I believe that our bodies have evolved to be naturally healthy, and that keeping them healthy is a very doable thing. I also believe that everyone should get a second, and even third, opinion when diagnosed medically with any serious ailment or disease. And finally, I believe that cancer for the most part is a deficiency disease. By this I mean that through diet, physical inactivity, or habits such as smoking, we are depriving our bodies of the nutrients and physical conditioning that they have evolved to depend on and by doing so we are creating a less than optimal condition that allows cancer cells to exist. Of course we don’t have control over all the environmental toxins from pollution and other sources that we take in, but many believe that a good detoxification plan can take care of that.

These articles generally focus on more of a holistic approach to managing cancer, although I would be remiss in not mentioning some of the non-natural alternative treatments so that you are at least aware that they exist. Any commentary in these articles is purely the opinion of the author (that’s me) and is for educational purposes only. Read on and learn something new…
