There are many jobs today that allow combining work and travelling. You can find options for both single-functioned workers and people with no working experience and special skills. Combining work and traveling is a dream for many people. And this dream can come true, no matter what your age, education or financial position is. Traveling is a part of many different jobs. Here are some of them.
1. Archeologist
You don’t have to be a specialist to join an archeological expedition. For young people it is a great way to learn new things, to discover something new about the human history and to travel, of course. You get a chance to visit some beautiful places and meet interesting people. Isn’t it tempting?
2. Pilot
To become a pilot, you need a special certificate and some experience. So, you’ll need to graduate from a college or academy. And besides the love for flying, you have to have a good health.
3. English teacher
If you are a native speaker or just know the language well, you can go and teach in many countries of the South-East Asia. There are many vacancies in South Korea, Vietnam, Thailand, China, Japan, etc. it can be one-to-one lessons, group classes and classes in schools or colleges.
4. Stewardess/steward
This is not an easy job, as many people think. A steward/stewardess has to know foreign languages and the structure of a plane, has to be able to give first aid (including delivering babies), to support and comfort passengers in stress situations and to deal with possible hooliganism.
5. Guide
English-speaking guides are always welcomed in many countries where you can find English-speaking tourists. A job of a guide requires an excellent knowledge of the place where you want to work and its history. You also should be able to get along with unfamiliar people and be friendly and sociable. A good guide can always find something new and interesting in everyday routes.
6. Translator/interpreter
People of this profession can travel a lot, especially if you are a simultaneous interpreter. Great professionals, like with every other job, are always in demand. Knowing foreign languages opens many doors.
7. Travel agent
Travel agents can be asked to go to different countries to learn about certain places, to take pictures and decide whether this place is suitable for their agency.
8. Photographer
To become a successful photographer you need to do something more than just buying a fancy camera. You can finish some photography classes and get experience. After that you can make money selling your pictures made while traveling. You can sell pictures at photo stocks, offer them to publishing houses or take pictures for hotels, nightclubs, etc. Good wedding photographers often go to couples’ honeymoon.
9. Member of a cruise ship
Annually cruise ships hire around 100 000 of people. Some positions require knowledge of foreign languages (for example, a job as a waiter or receptionist), some – creative skills (job as a dance teacher or a vocalist). Although you may have not so many days off to see places with this jon, but many people take it anyway.
10. Writer or freelance journalist
This is a job for creative authors who can be self-disciplined. Traveling relaxes you and sometimes you can forget that you have to sit down and write every day not to miss a publisher’s deadline.
