What Happens If I Fail?

You can always find a ton of things online about success and succeeding. However, most of the time on the way to success you have to face a lot of failure. This isn't just in business, but in anything. I have a background in science. A scientist NEVER gets that mind blowing discovery on the first try. One thing all success has is perseverance. When you fall flat on your face, you get up, dust yourself off and figure out what the hell happened. What went wrong?

If you fail, you have to analyze it. It's important to be honest with yourself, otherwise you will never be able to fix the problem if you can't admit to it. It's important to keep honest people around you. If you have friends that will be honest and tell you straight out what is wrong (which is hard to face), they can help you see what you might not want to. Sometimes you're just to close to see what's wrong. You work hard on your business, so when it isn't successful, it's difficult to see it. Listen to your friends if they know your field of business, they want you to succeed. This is important to remember. It's also important to remember if you ask for someone's help, don't get angry when they tell you what's wrong. Take it as constructive criticism, and not as a personal attack.

You find out the problem(s), now what? Look at it from different angles. How can you modify things to eliminate the problem? Try to come up with as many solutions as you can, if one doesn't work try another. Scientists go through many hypothesis before the figure out a solid theory. Einstein certainly didn't come up with the correct calculations for the theory of Relativity over night. It took years of trying and failing before he finally got the correct calculations.

It can be really helpful to bounce ideas off people. Sometimes just discussing things gives you more ideas. Talk it out. If you don't have a lot of friends that can help, join some forums or some online community in your field of business. You can even find groups and communities on social networks like Facebook.

If all else fails, google. If you can't think of any solutions, try googling some stuff to get ideas for solutions. You can even look at other successful businesses in your niche to see what they do to find solutions. Don't steal their stuff, but you can imitate or gain ideas for your business. There are a lot of ways you can keep on track to create a successful business, try some of those and remember to be honest with yourself. It may be that you have to rethink your entire business concept. Be flexible, remember that failure is about learning, and try to keep it fun. Good luck!
