One of the questions I often see asked online is about cats being sick and why it happens. If it happens just now and again then it's not really worth worrying about, but if it is happening frequently then it can very worrying. Within a month or two of bringing a cat into your household they will become part of the family and there is nothing worse than seeing a family member out of sorts.
One of the most common reasons for cats being sick is very obvious but overlooked by many people - milk! If you are dishing out cows milk frequently then this could well be the reason your cat is being sick. Cats are not really built for taking in cows milk and it can make them really ill. This is mainly because cats are known for being intolerant to lactose. This basically means that their stomachs have a real bad time when it comes to digestion of this milk.
If you are keen on giving your cat a nice drink then it's best to buy the specialized commercial cat milk sold at stores. It is a little pricey but it has really low levels of the dodgy lactose. This milk is not always the answer and some cats could still be sensitive to it.
Another reason for cats being sick is their food. By this I mean whether you change brands often or not. If you do chop-and-choose your brands then this could be upsetting your cats stomach. Also, the direct brand of cats food could be hurting your cats stomach - try changing brands. If you are giving your cat 'wet food' then maybe try giving them a 'dry food' brand - they may be a little fussy with the change at first but eventually they'll eat if their hungry.
Cats being sick can also be linked directly to the amount of food you are giving them. Cats will try to eat what you put in front of them, they're greedy. I have heard of people actually weighing their cat food before giving it to them - maybe you should try this to. If your cats being sick then you may want to try giving them a small amount and then about two hours later give them the same amount again.
When your cats being sick it can be very worrying. Try using the tips listed above and if they do not work, try moving the animals food to a quieter area of the house - it could be a nervous animal.
I am a cat owner and I know to keep milk and milk products away from the cats! Or else the cats will be sorry! Thanks for your article.
