I know! I know! Everyone writes something about their pet right! Well I have this article for you to read about our two cats Skiibowski and Milky. I adopted two cats after I bought my house November 2011. I wanted to do something nice and give two cats a home for Christmas. Tom and I went to the shelter here in Gloucester County New Jersey because that is the county I live in.
I never been to an animal shelter before, it was the most depressing place I have ever been to. Tom and I wanted to take all the cats home to spoil and let them roam free but unfortunately this was not going to happen. So we had to decide on which two cats we wanted. I cried really hard on the inside while Tom showed his tears on the outside. It broke our heart's to see they all wanted some love, attention, and affection. The sight of just seeing them all sitting in little cages made us even more heartbroken. That's what make our decision even harder.
All the cats at the shelter seem to have different personalities. I finally picked out the two cats we wanted, they had these two in a cage together and you had to adopt both together because they were brother and sister. I said I came to adopt two so this is perfect for me. We could not wait to get them home. I forget the names they were given but we named them Skiibowski and Milky.
We know, "Why Skiibowski and Milky"? Well we got Skiibowski off of American Idol tryout a couple years ago and made a joke about it and said if we ever got a cat or dog we are going to give it that name to give people something to talk about. Everyone has the same pet names, we wanted to be different. I always liked a white pit or a pretty white cat and said if I get one, the name Milky it is. So that is the story on their names.
When we got both cats home, they were both a little skittish. They were like this for the first week because they were so confined to a small cage and didn't know what to do with a 2500 sq. foot home.
As each day passed I got to see how they differ from one another they are like day and night. Skiibowski is the all grey and his personality is loveable, sneaky, trouble, and stingy. Milky is white, cream, and grey and her personality is more relaxed, lazy, and "Little Miss Priss".
I'm glad we adopted them. It feels good knowing they have plenty of room to play, roam, and feel safe. They get fed 3 times a day. The first bowl in morning which is dry kitten food then 6pm they get a treat of 1/2 can wet food each and then 8pm they get dry food again. I know what your thinking, No! I'm not over feeding them. lol... I give them meal portion size so they don't end up over weight.
Skiibowski is the pig and is the first one done. He always tries to eat poor Milky's food. Funny thing is Milky is fatter than Skiibowski because he is hyper and she is mellow.
We taught Skiibowski how to fetch like a dog and he will bring you the kittyball back and drop it for you to throw again. Milky will just watch! lol.
Well I definately would adopt again and recommend anyone who is reading this article if you are an animal lover or just want some companion you will love the love they give back even if they are differ from one another.
i love my cats and I have a lot to learn about them still
